I guess my "supplement" would be beans since I eat them almost every day!
I don't take protein supplements except when my long runs exceed 24K. Then I usually take one serving of any VEGA "whole food optimizer".
HTH! |

I love tempeh; I prefer it over tofu for sure!
I don't eat any animal products except for milk (though I have capped my consumption to a cup and the rest I do soy or almond milk) and sometimes eggs from a farm where the chickens are left free to roam around, wings unbroken, basically "eggs from happy hens"
But since the farm is not close from where I live, I don't get them often.
Definitely a square of tempeh will be as good as any aminoacid supplement! |

If you eat grains with rice this combination will make a complete protein. Just add a green vegetable and this would make a satisfying meal. Just google the vegetarian sites for ideas. |

Beans, seeds, tofu, and seitan are all excellent sources of protein.

Eggs, which I hate but since I live on a mini-farm with free range hens..my girls are supplemented with all kinds of good stuff so I kinda feel like I have to. I mean they are so fresh, not like the 30 day old eggs you get at the grocery store (want shocking, research it!) but still...uggh. Other then that I use Braggs & take sublingual B-12.
Oh yeah, anyone who wants eggs located near NC Outer Banks for free, I have plenty!!

It is present in Soybeans, lentils, Peanuts, Fish, Chicken. Amino acids are necessary for the body to maintain its normal function. It plays important role in every part of the body, including the immune system, the digestive system, metabolism, etc.. Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C are the vitamins needed for amino acid metabolism and to help with the absorption of amino acids. |

Hey, I've been a vegetarian for the past 20 years. I love, love, love tofu!!
Seeds, chia as Bethany mentioned (Hi Beth, I feel like I'm following you, cause I keep seeing you in the forums I visit )
Nuts (but not too many - very oily), eggs or just the whites, chickpeas, beans & lentils, and soymilk. Also some cheeses.
Also there is a product called 'Bragg' which is basically amino acids (low dose though) and it tastes like slightly diluted soysauce. You buy chia and bragg where you purchase your health food supplements and products.
I do take an iron and B12 supplement though as I really struggle to stay in the 'healthy' range with these. |

That's ok! And you can help me out with vegetarian recommendations, since I have cut back my meat consumption. |
