I just saw that EDS is selling two types of IS Clinical sunscreen: a moisturizing cream and a powder - both SPF 20. I am thinking maybe the moisturizing sunscrean would help in my quest to cut down the steps in my morning routine - I could cut out moisturizer - I use the IS Clinical one now with Skinceuticals sunscreen. Thing is - I don't know whether the powder one may be better for my oily skin...but it wouldn't help in making my routine shorter...any advice??? Very Happy

Hi Lela,

Glad to see the products are working for you Very Happy

Which ones did you end up sticking with?

Sorry haven't tried the sunscreen yet, but I don't think a powder with sunscreen would constitute protection-if you want to do it right, you'd put the sunscreen AND the powder for extra protection.

I'm waiting till Katee tries it Wink

Hi Marina the Skin Care Guru!!!

Yes, I am happy with my routine now. Very Happy My melasma is still there...but it is better. I was tempted to go the hydroquinone route recently..but just changed my mind. Too many people have had bad experiences!

I am now using: IS Clinical Cleanser - Pro-Heal and Moisturizing Complex in the a.m. and Active Serum and Hydra Cool at night. I once in awhile use a .01% generic retin-a cream - which I should use more regularly...I have a hard time believing it could do anything - because it is not too strong...so I am thinking of asking the doc for a stronger perscription or going your route - the Skinceuticals Retinol. Hey - have you found somewhere that sells Skinceuticals in Canada yet? I came across a website - beautymark.com -(I believe that is the name) - Canadian co. that stocks Skinceuticals.

I do use the Jan Marini Transformation Serum once in awhile - it does sit very well under makeup! I sometimes feel like it is not moisturizing enough...but I think it will be great in the summer!!!!!!!!! Very Happy

So besides the melasma - which has faded - I am pretty happy with my results...A lot of people have commented recently that my skin is looking good!!! (always harder to recognize yourself!!!!)

Thanks again for all of your help!!!!! How is Meeko (sp?) doing? I should check on that thread again to see...I am sending all of my good vibes to Meeko and your family!!!!!!!!!!

I think the only place that ships skinceuticals to Canada iswww.theskincareinsitute.com.

Another one with the IS Cleanser-yeeesh!! the only thing I thought wasn't necessary.O.K. I need details-I badgered poor Lexy enough on it. Does it take off eye makeup without drying? I got a voucher that's itching to be used.

Thanks for asking about Meeko-nothing new yet. He's on his supplements. He's being spoiled & can't figure out why. He's happy.Luckily, he's even tempered & likes to lie around & cuddle. Once the weather gets better, it'll be hard to keep him from trying to run. I'm waiting for my daughter to show me how to upload a picture on the thread.

Take care,
Marina

Hi Marina:

You will be very happy with this news...the website is beautymark.ca - it is a Vancouver based co. with an online store within Canada - with many lines - including Skinceuticals. No customs!!!!!!!!!! Very Happy Do you still use the 1% Retinol every other night? Do you think that has helped a lot with melasma? (i may sound like a broken record!!!)

IS Clinical Cleanser - I really do like it. At first I thought it was too drying but I started using it when I started using Active Serum, etc...so I think I was just starting it all too fast. The cleanser is good at taking off makeup and I am not finding it too drying now. I use it twice a day. It does have a very watery consistency - and has become more watery since I have had it...but still does the job!

Thanks for beautymark. Their prices are outrageous though. Careful..the cdn $$$$ is doing better lately-can't quite call it monopoly $$ anymore. Example, they sell ferulic at $170. Skincare has it at$95. With the exchange at about 18% (tops) you do the math.O.K. I never was any good at math, but I get $112. cdn.Plus, she dosen't charge for shipping over $50. I don't always get hit with customs for products under $100.00 When I do, it's the gst/pst. Beautymark will still charge you taxes as well. Still dosen't come anywhere near $170. + taxes.

Unless I'm missing something Confused

Well, a quick update since I received this the other day. So far I like it as a moisturizer ... gives enough moisture without making me too shiny during the day and my MMU goes on nicely over top. But I haven't worn it outside any length of time to judge how well it works as a sunscreen, and I think if it's a day that I will be outside more than just back and forth to work, that I will use my Remergent SPF30 instead because of the higher SPF. And I have a Colorescience powder sunscreen I can use to touch up during the day (although I haven't had to use this yet).

So so far I'm happy with it, but time will tell! Smile

I almost bought the powder a few weeks ago, but I was turned off by a few reviews I read here. I just posted a review about the new Peter Thomas Roth powder suncreen on the product review board fyi -- I like it a lot. My opinion with the powders is that they are best for when your skin is too oily or sweaty to reapply a cream, or as something to keep in your purse for touch ups.
