Dermalogica Hydrating Booster / other Hyaluronic Acid Serum?

I had a facial on Friday and the lady told me that the sebum plugs would not come out easily during extractions, which is a sign of dehydrated skin, which in turn can be a root cause for my sporadic cystic blemishes. I have combination skin, that apparently becomes more oil the less hydrated I keep it... She recommended Dermalogica Hydrating Booster:

Here are my questions:
1) Has anyone tried this product and had good results with it?
2) Does anyone see any ingredients I should stay away from? I noticed the lavender oil...
3) Does anyone know a better alternative, either off the shelf or DIY? I would need something water based, that has a high concentration of hyaluronic acid.

It's easy to up the HA content if you wish.

You can play with it, replace some of the water with glycerine for instance, add a little essential oil of your choice....have fun!
