I LOVE IT!!!! Shortest review in the world!!!
I bought Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser several weeks ago because I have a problem with larger pores and I thought if this product is to be gentle even with glycolic in it I wanted to try it.
I was amazed the very first time I put it on.
I followed the directions very carefully as I do have very sensitive skin, applying it to my face and then adding a little water to it as I scrubbed my face with my fingers in a circular motion. It doesn't lather it just seems creamy but it sure works to take off your makeup. I washed it off splashing water about 15 or so times as directed and blotted my face dry with a soft towel.
My skin felt so soft, not irritated at all, hasn't dried my face (I immediately moisturize) and after just a couple of days I noticed that when I put my minerals on my face I didn't notice any visible pores at all!!!
There is no scent to the product and when I went to see my Dermatologist (treating me for Rosacea), I told him what I was using and he told me that he has a lot of other patients that swear by Jan Marini Cleanser..."Keep using it, your skin is looking good", he said!!!
Sorry Elizabeth Grant you have just officially been replaced by Jan Marini....my skin thanks you!!!

I love the Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser. I got it as a sample and it is just so good. It removes my makeup and not drying at all. |

I've used this before as well and have been tempted to repurchase. It always, without fail, manages to sort out skin congestion issues for me in a short period of time without irritating my skin. I'm glad you reminded me of it actually, I should buy a bottle! |

I've been using this cleanser for a couple of weeks now. I have rosacea and find that this cleanser does not dry my skin or irritate it. It has left my skin feeling smoother and makeup is easier to apply. I don't use it to remove makeup though, instead I'm using the Dermalogica precleanse first then the Jan Marini for the final cleanse. Unless something changes I will be repurchasing this product. |

Do you use this everyday, am and pm? I have just got it and like it so far but the woman I talked to at a skin place over here said that I should not use it everyday but just three times a week and the JM ester C cleanser the other times. My skin isn't sensitive - although I definitely want to be as gentle and health promoting to it as poss.
I plan to use retinol, vit C and CP too in the future. What does glycolic acid do - can it be used with the former mentioned 3? Also what about ammonium stuff. Makes it more difficult to fig stuff out when you don't have knowledge of pharmacy ingredients.. |

I'm using the Bioglycolic cleanser am & pm every day. It's a gentle cleanser and you shouldn't have to swap it around with the C Esta cleanser. C Esta is good for people who are sensitive to cleansers containing glycolic acid. If you're planning on using other products containing AHAs and BHAs then maybe the C Esta is a good choice for you. Glycolic acid is an AHA, it is a chemical exfoliant. It is supposed to help other products sink into the skin better so you can use it with VitA and VitC lotions. As for CPs I don't know anything about them. |

I've used this before too and I really liked it. My esthetician also sent me home with a sample of their Jan Marini's moisturizer which I also loved. The Bioglycolic cleanser has a bit of a sting to it for some people when you first start using it. My esthetician said that's normal and means it's working, so keep lathering.
I have always been curious if a toner with glycolic acid in it would be more effective than a cleanser with glycolic acid in it (since you rinse it right off) or vice versa? Anyone know (or have an opinion?)? |

I'm not sure if it would be more effective but you'd want to watch out for the alcohol content of any toner you choose as it could be quite drying.
I can understand your line of thinking though as I always thought that it would be difficult to get any benefits from a cleanser because its not on your skin long enough and so I simply looked for a cleanser that didn't do any harm and was enjoyable to use. But the JM bioglycolic cleanser does actually seem to be improving my skin. A first for me. |

BellaKai, I would recommend keeping the cleanser on your skin for a while. When I use the JM cleanser I massage it on in the shower and leave it for a few minutes, then rinse of. Seems to be more effective this way, which makes sense. |

Ok Ladies,
I am sold. I have been looking for a great cleanser and from what I have read here this seems to be what I have been searching for.
Does anyone know the best place to purchase this? If so please let me know.

Nancy I can't help with where to purchase as i buy mine here in Australia, but just a bit more info on using it. Its not suitable for eye makeup removal. You apply it to a dry face with dry hands and massage in. Rinse off with luke warm water. As Mabsy suggests you can leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing. I'm sure you'll love it. |

Thank you very much 61 Apples. What I have done is just ordered it from the company web site. It is 29.00 for an 8 oz. bottle and the shipping charge is only 5.00. I am happy with that and can't wait to try it. By the way what do you use as a makeup remover?

I find this is enough to remove makeup. For eyes I use Avene sensitive eye makeup remover.
Does anybody get a slight stinging sensation when they use this? |

Slight stinging is apparently quite normal when you first use a glycolic acid product. I personally didn't have that reaction with Jan Marini but I had already been using an ASAP cleanser that contained glycolic acid.
I use the Demalogica Precleanse to remove makeup. I like using the Jan Marini cleanser on a makeup free face as I simply splash the cleanser off with warm water. But I also have half a bottle of precleanse left so It's also a case of using up what I have. |

A little tip from a gycolic junkie.. If you can leave it on your skin for 5 minutes before rinsing, you will see triple the results you are getting now.. Lather up, massage, then rinse like mad..
No point in throwing all that goodness down the drain before it's done it's job! |

Kassy_A: Thanks for the tip.
I guess it makes sense to use it on a face w/out makeup too then it can act on the skin instead of just being used to remove makeup and get washed away, so precleanse is prob good.
I didn't get the stinging at first but after about a week of using once a day - at end of the day I got it. By the last couple of days I started using retinol at the same time too. Hope I'm not doing anything too abrasive/ harmful to my face.. |

Thanks for your review!
I have an unopened bottle right now because I'm not done using the oily skin one yet. The oily skin one is nice because it foams up but I think it's a bit drying now that the weather is cooler and I'm also using acids. |

61Apples: thanks for your advice re this and vit a,c etc.
I have been using this cleanser whilst using retin-A. I have just heard that you shouldn't use Retin-A directly bef/ after doing a peel. Does anybody know if using retin-A at same time as using this cleanser is too much? |

I use this cleaser with retin-A with no problems. I even use Jan Marini's bioglycolic acid on mornings after using retin - a at night with no problems. Beautiful glowing skin!! |

I have been using this cleanser for a month and my skin is very very dry now. I should probably use it only once a week even though I have combination skin. |
