The FDA in the U.S. has recently approved an oral contraceptive called "Seasonale". It has been on the U.S. market for about six months now, and I laaaaughed when I read what the selling feature is. Check it out: those who take "Seasonale" will only have four menstrual periods per year (four "seasons". Get it?)
What a way to market something. In theory, however, this Pill is not all that unique. It's just a low-dose, combination, monophasic Pill, which is to be taken for four months consistantly, and then ... one week off. You could do this will many of the monophasic Pills on the market! http://www.seasonale.com/
