I been advised to use the SkinCeuticals Phyto+ in order to get rid of old acne scars and pigment spots. I’m hesitating a bit because next year I (and my husband) would like to try to get pregnant. Is there anything in this cream which stays in the body or can be dangerous if I use it also during a eventual pregnancy?I heard that the Kojic Acid is not good if you use it over a long time.. To you have any comments or advices?
Should I just stick with my Vit C15 in the meantime and wait with the SkinCeuticals Phyto+? |

Phyto + contains plant-based ingredients, and it's use is to help fade/prevent melasma (pigmentation). Acne scars can improve with the use of the Vitamin-C serum, but Phyto + can also help prevent acne break-outs. It is safe to use prior-to and during pregnancy. HYDRAQUINONE ingredients are to be avoided, however. Whenever in doubt, please check with your ob/gyn. |

I know my mom used the Phyto+ and it really did help with her discoloration. Hers was mostly from melasma, but I think Kojic Acid is a general fading agent.
Actually, our derm suggested Phyto+ after she used a product with Hydroquinone in it for a short period of time. The Phyto+ can be used for a longer period of time because it has Kojic Acid instead of hq. |
