I bought this product about 2 months ago since I have very oily skin and enlarged pores around my nose area.
The promise:
Oil-free, fragrance-free with an advanced oil-absorbing pore minimizer for an all-day greaseless matte look. This advanced mattifying gel is formulated with powerful oil-absorbing, pore minimizing ingredients. Absorbs and controls excess oil on contact without stripping natural moisture. This fast acting gel helps make-up stay fresher longer and creates a lasting, satiny matte finish without cakiness. Eliminates unsightly breakthrough shine for hours. Also ideal for a man's shiny face and scalp.
The reality:
My face looked matte for only 20 mins after application (this is the same amount of time I stay shine free even with out any mattifying products). It felt greasy on my face. It did not help my pores look smaller. I would compare it to the SmashBox primer for consistency and feel. But I still prefer SmashBox over this product since the SmashBox product at least make my face look smoother.
I am now using Jurlique rose silk to battle my oiliness and it seems to be much more effective. |

I agree with the review. This product is totally useless. Only works for the first 15 minutes. But then my face is not oily for the first 15 minutes after I washed my face. |

I had a similar experience. I think I have tried every mattifier out there (or close!).
The only things I have found that even remotely work on my t-zone are:
- Proactiv Daily Oil Control
- Skin Biology Sebum Be Gone - works well if I use it every day (though it smells a tad like fish for a minute when I put it on) |

I've found that the Jurlique rose silk dust is working quite well to keep my shine away.
I was going a bit over board with it in the beginning and it dried my skin out a bit, but now I just put it on after I have done my makeup, then just need one touch up in the afternoon and thats it! |

Question in regards to the Jurlique rose silk that you are using to control shine. I purchased Jurlique Lavendar silk powder because I read great raves both here and on MUA. I only have used it a couple times now, and it could just be a timing for me, but I saw a few more blemishes break out when I used it. I only applied it my T-Zone where I get most of the oilies, but I used it one day and had a couple new pimples the next. Does it cause anyone to break out??? |

Hi Berquis,
I did not have a break out problem with the rose silk dust at all. The only problem I had was some overdrying of my skin, but that was because I used it too much.
I have really sensitive skin as well, and the rose silk dust did not cause any problems.
