How many new formulas are there? It seems I have heard they came out with a few now. |

I've got new Marini about 3-4 months ago.
Before I used Talika Liposils and Enormous Lash. My lashes became pretty long.
As soon as I got Jan Marini, I started to use it. I was very excited as I read zillions positive reviews about the old formula.
However, new one is complete disappointment for me. It did nothing. I'm still using Talika in the morning, so maybe that's the reason why my lashes remain long. But definitely not any 'WOW!' result as I expected.
For me it was just waste of money. |

Marini Lash launched June 5th, 2008 and has only recently been shipping. Are you perhaps referring to one of her other lash products? |

I'm referring to Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash Conditioner.
It said 'NEW FORMULA'. OMG, how many new formulas they have
But mine 'NEW' was definitely before June 8 |

There are a few versions of the one you mention. If you do a search on EDS and the web, you'll find lots of posts on what happened there.
The brand new JM release is a prostaglandin-free formula called "Marini Lash" (see link above for more info). |

I'm sure there are. My 'new' version, which was purchased here on EDS didn't work for me.
I will be happy to hear that it worked for somebody else. |

Thank you Bethany for this link. I enjoyed her review. She seemed very honest. I agree with her that Mavala did not work. Talika did not really work that well, but it actually helped a little bit. |

Hi Lucyluc~
Will you keep me posted on your success w/Marini? I read the other thread, and I know you mentioned Frappuccino's...I'm not ready to give up my fraps (actually soy vanilla lattes) on this until I hear some more EDS people chime in...But on the other hand, my MSM is helping w/the lashes, but I feel like MSM makes the lashes longer and not so thick...I want to thicken my lashes!!! These conditioning products like Marini are so tempting, but for a $160 I want to make sure it will really work...Not to mention, my fiance would flip (Not that I would ever tell him what things actually cost ) TIA |

yes,I found that with the original jan marini I got awesome results for like 6 months and then for some reason it tapered off and I have never gotten to that awesome length again. I am hoping I will have good results with this formula and that they will STAY long I hope. I feel the $$$ I spend on this is a drop in the bucket....natural long lashes are the icing on the cake, its very noticeable, looks natural, and thats the point of makeup is too look like a natural beauty. The older I get the less makeup I wear so its important to have really good lashes!I dont know if I had gotten thick lashes but my lashes were so long it was noticed by many people. |

Just wanted to put my two cents in here. I loved the original Jan Marini (didn't everyone). I also don't want to pay $100 for a product that may work or not.
My current secret to long lashes now without a growth product is Shiseido mascara base and then either Dior Show or Shu Uemura waterproof mascara. With the Shiseido product you need very little mascara to enhance your eye lashes.
Hopefully this will be helpful to someone. |

Could you use the Shiseido base w/o mascara? Oh and could you sleep w/it on at night? So if I go to the Dept. store, how much will it run me? |

I use the combinaton of the shiseido's mascara base and Dior Show too. It is an awsome combination. I really recommend this combination. Dior Show is the best mascara i've come across (if you are looking for thick and long dramatic lashes.) And with the mascara base, it makes my lashes ridiculous thick and long. I've been using a lash growth serum (from my dermatologist) and its almost too much to wear the base and mascara in the day time. Looks like I'm wearing false eyelashes. |

The base has a milky color to it. So you can't really use it on its own. I guess you could sleep in it. I'm not sure. I'm lazy about taking off my mascara but my eyes aren't sensitive. The base is like clear mascara. So it dries and hardens up like regular mascara.
Also, one tube last eons. Seriously, I think I'm on my second tube and I've been wearing the base for years. It seems to me the base was in the $20s. |

jf is right. The base is $22.00 and really works well. I like it because again very little mascara needs to be applied.
If one doesn't like the look of mascara then need to buy one of the lash growth formulas. Got an email for enormous lash that they were discontinuing sales as of today.
I did use Jan Marini (original) but with my mascara for me seems pointless. Just my opinion here. |
