I'm also not photogenic at all. I suspect I'm too thin and it creates shadows and gauntness. Couple tricks that get a decent photo (1 out of 10 are passable).
Over smile. Grinning like an idiot is actually camera friendly.
Turn your head at an angle. Hits the light a little better.
Stage them. By this I don't mean get a backdrop, but if you are going out, bully your friends into going to places with amber lighting. I also look pretty good against blue lighting. |
So the rumor of Candle light is true , poor hubby's gonna wonder what happened to light bulbs later today, when he comes in and its all candles |
LOL.
Just tell him you are being romantic Tiny! |

lmao I removed our light bulbs year ago. On the pretense it is better for the planet. I wont repeat what Mr Loops said to that. |

Just replace the bright light bulbs with an amber-ish colored one, you'll be shocked at how softer you will look. Bright white light bulbs do not enter my bedroom. |

Get yourself a cheap camera with a timer. Then take pictures of yourself posing in different angles. You should be able to see which looks better. Then always try to pose that way in the future. Why do you think Barbra Streisand only allows the left side of her face to be photographed? |

It is true we all have a good side and bad side, most "stars" are only photographed in one direction!! |

God, I look like rubbish... Why is it that some people are just so photogenic and then there's ME. No matter what I do, I look awful in pictures - I have a full face (and by full I mean long and fat - and with menopause in full swing - kinda jowl-y! ). Last night I went to dinner with some truly great friends from highschool and we had the waitress take a picture of all of us (there were 8 of us). I look awful and everyone else looks great! I know it's tough not to be critical when you're looking at yourself....but does anyone have any tricks to look better in pictures so I don't look like such a rolly polly troll?! I kept vetoing pics they wanted to put up on Facebook!

Get a boyfriend who is a photographer. That is what I did. You get so used to having your photo taken you begin not to care anymore or at least you become more aware of your best angles and smile |

I agree, and I'd also like to add that having your feet staggered a little and your torso twisted towards the camera, chest up, will make your waist look thinner! It'll give you the hourglass shape!
I've also noticed that my eyes look much better if I'm looking slightly upward, with a soft smile (less likely to look smaller). I experimented a lot with self-timer photos when my SO was away for work for 6 months! |
