Dear ladies,
Does any of you have experience with re-growing a big toe nail?
I injured it badly with my ski boot in April and yesterday it just fell of.
I feel like a crab without shell. What can i do to protect it?
I didn't think it is so scary yesterday. It got me this morning in shower. I literally felt each drop of water on it.
It is so vulnerable. Is there anything i can do until it grows back?
Thanks |

Hi YB - I'm a skier and this was the first season in many years I did not lose a big toenail. The tenderness shouldn't last long, but it will take several months for it to completely grow back, posssibly 6-8 months, almost in time to go skiing again! Also, I wear sandals in the summer & simply paint that part of the toe with polish - truly, who looks close enough to notice there's no nail there. |

Hi mogulicious,
Thank you for reply. 6-8 months is not that bad. Most forums suggest it's permanent in my after 40.
But I never believe bad news )
You say i can just paint it? Interesting. I would never think of painting the soft tissue, but i'll try it now
Thanks again! |

I closed a car door on my thumb a couple of years ago and had a black spot at the base of my thumb, ugly! I read online it would take over six months to grow back but it only took three months. I think the reason is the Super Collagen I take. I knew my hair and nails were growing faster but this was measurable proof.
If your bed is tender, I wonder if press on nails would help? |

Hi 7Destiny,
Interesting idea. I am not sure it will work though. I guess you need a nail in a first place to press it on )
But it definitely worth the try. I would really appreciate some cover. Even if it is only temporary.
I am on my way to CVS
Thanks |
