I'm going through a really stressful time in my life. I'm trying really hard not to stress out over things, but it's so difficult. I know that stress does no good and worrying over things does nothing positive.
What are some easy/quick ways to relax in the midst of a very stressful moment/time? I've tried meditation, but sometimes it's really hard for me because I can't stop thinking. |

During times of extreme stress, I study my Buddhist text and/or meditate, get a massage or practice aromatherapy.
Best to you, BFG |

Do you have a lightbulb scent diffuser ring? You simply place it on top of a lightbulb, add a few drops of essential oil, and the heat from the lightbulb will diffuse the aroma throughout the room. I've tried clary sage oil and lavendar, both quite calming - I did try adding a few drops of clary sage oil to my bath, it worked great to relieve stress but I had to stop because of how low my blood pressure dropped! Also try incorporating calming spices (I add them to smoothies - ginger, cinnamon, turmeric & saffron) - since I'm easily stressed am planning to get the shingles vaccine soon (approved by FDA for ages 50+), my dad & 4 siblings & their parents had shingles, brought on during stressful periods. |

Sugar is very helpful for modulating stress response. Drink a Coke (a real one with sucrose, not HFCS) with some cheese and listen to music. |
