If I were you I'd get some small sizes and try each set of products, to find out which suits you best and meets your particular needs.

Good luck.

Just started using some of the Dermalogica - active moist and a mask and a scrub, It works very well on my oily skin. All of them are great products.
You can find sample sizes on ebay of many products - that is where I'd start.
As for toners - you can make your own very successfully. I'm not sure I'd pay big bucks for that.

I have the Blue Corn mask and it is quite drying.
I only used it a few times as it stings on my skin quite a lot.

usually I use a clay mask from Mario badescu and that never stings my skin.

The Body shop prices are very good though esp if it is a buy 3 get 2 free sale.

I do like the Body shop toners though, the tea tree one has powder in it for oily skin, used it more in the summer.

While I like the Body Shop products and the company philosophy; I would not buy skin care products for my sensitive aging skin from TBS.

I do have Dermalogica products. I really like the exfoliating cream. Dermalogica is a professional spa line sold in many salons. I originally had a facial done with a fantastic esthetician years ago who suggested the products. My spa sells the line and also offers face mapping (free). EDS is much better priced on the line than my local spa.

Do you have anything in skin care routine that is working? If the Cetaphil cleanser is working for you, I would keep it.

What else are you using for your skin care? Moisturizer or sunscreen?

I understand your skin is oily. Do you have breakouts? Are you sensitive?

My suggestion is to tweak your routine slowly. Try one new item at a time. I strongly recommend patch testing. If you have a reaction (for whatever reason); you can quickly eliminate the problem product.

How do EDS users rate the Body Shop? I admit, I'm kinda addicted to their skin care products, but it could just be a load of eco-hooey.

They have a seaweed skincare line that's great for my oily skin and I've always been a fan of their tea tree oil series, but as I've grown older, I've noticed that many of their products are super drying (extremely dry winters where I'm based) and frankly irritating--especially the ones supposedly formulated for ageing skin!! I'm in my early 30s, so they may be a little *much* for me at this point, though.

I've never been impressed with Body Shop products. I used to get lots of their stuff as gifts, only the salt scrubs seemed ok, but as there are so many better options available (that actually smell like the stuff supposedly in there and without turning bathroom into death trap). Fragrances, hair stuff, makeup is IMO sub-standard and their scents in general are plastic-y and nauseating. I'm a total fragrance snob though and even supposedly nice department store bottles make me go 'eww'. Stuff for face is same as any drug store stuff, worthwhile ingredients sometimes show up, but proper concentrations and delivery systems are glaringly lacking. Tons of useless stuff in those bottles, but that's hardly surprising as 99% of cosmetics on market are useless.
But I like their gadgets and accessories. Never use them though.

Not too many reviews for The Body Shop here. I think that overall EDS members do a lot of research and are very selective on skin care products.

If you take a look at Makeup Alley, there is reviews for The Body Shop.

Edit - removed original link

http://www.makeupalley.com/product/searching.asp?CategoryID=7&brandname=The+Body+Shop&Brand=52&title=&submit=Find+Products

This takes you to Makeup Alley. I am not sure why I can't copy a TBS link.

+Thank you alot for letting me know .I only used the Cetaphil oily skin cleanser, and it worked perfectly , and sometime i got acne on my face but not much .

+The main reason is that i'm living in Canada with cold and dry weather , it made my skin harsh ,rough with oil on it , my skin didn't look smooth and soft . When i used moisturizer , it made my skin smooth and soft ,by the way it made my skin more shine and greasy , that's why i stopped using the moisturizer and looking for another products that make my skin soft ,smooth without making the skin oil ,shine .

***Note : I always washed my face with warm water ,I used Cetaphil cleanser only . I have never ever used these products before like [toner , exfoliant , oil-free lotion ] . I think these are the reasons that made my skin very dry , harsh , rough with oil and shine on the skin

1) By the way , Can i mix my facial product like using Cetaphil cleanser + Dermalogica [toner , oil control lotion , exfoliant] ?
2) Do you have any advices for me ?

You do not have to use the whole line. Most of us use the best product possible for us. It is a marketing ploy of some these cosmetic companies to use all the products together.

If you are OK with the Cetaphil cleanser; keep it in the routine. I would add a moisturizer especially for the Canadian winter. (Get a sample or travel size if possible.) If the Cetaphil moisturizer does not work for you; try another.

I do think using a sunscreen product is important also. Sometimes you can find a sunscreen that is moisturizing enough all on it own.

If your skin is good overall, I would just use a concealer on the spots.

If you are oily and need some oil control you can blot the oil with blotting sheets. I have also used plain brown Starbucks napkins as well as commercial drug store products to take the mid day shine away.

I have sensitive skin so I don't use primers. I am afraid of clogging from the silicones.

I was using mineral makeup exclusively for foundation and to conceal but have switched to a Tinted Moisturizer spf 30 from Paula's Choice. I still use mineral makeup to conceal spots but I find MMU is not kind to "older skin".

I use some of the Paula's Choice for skin care also. The company has samples of almost everything they sell starting at $1.00 per packet.

The Body Shop is NOT that natural (and neither is Lush...surprised me w that...).

The Body shop has all their ingredients on their US site, but not the Canadian one I noticed.
When you are in the store it is almost impossible to try and read the labels as they are these kind of flyer folded to the bottle.

I find it best to browse online first, then figure out what items I want with their promos.

I do not like the way their stores are set up, but I'm sure they did that on purpose to have people browse longer and also pick up random things!
