She has sinus issues Fawnie... She's been dealing with them for a while. Some of the side effects from EMF exposure and sensitivity are sinus issues, headaches, asthma, memory loss and even arthritis. I was experiencing carpal tunnel (form of arthritis) AND arthritis in my hands which was starting to scare me. It made my knuckles where they meet my hands look almost deformed they were so swollen. I bought the whole phouse plug, EMF neutralizers for all wireless items in our home and the pillows from Aulterra. My hands have not hurt me and the knuckles have completely flattened down since I purchased all of these items. I am one happy camper!!! Thank you Cabrita!!! Best, Aprile |

I have arthritis in my hands and fingers also - the knuckles on my fingers are mis-shapen. I've found taking Krill Oil has helped with the pain. However, I don't understand how the deformity of arthritis can just disappear because it is usually the bones that have changed shape.
Incidentally, just a warning to those who want to try Magnesium Oil for arthritis. It gave me horrible itching patches all over my body - even though I only sprayed the oil in the crook of my arm. I Googled MO and itching and apparently it's a very common side effect. I have stopped using it and the itching has stopped. |

keliu, perhaps mag oil isn't right for you..i go thru cycles when it feels right to me and when it doesn't..but if you do try it again there are some things to consider.
first of all... the source of the mag oil can make a dif in the quality of the mag oil..but also in the salt content...for me, it'sthe high salt content that creates the itching ..and i get also can get quite irritable when my body is taking in too much salt via the mag oil..so you can dilute the mag oil with water..as much as you need to dilute it..certainly up to 50%..and/or leave it on your body for only 20 minutes (that's the amount of time it is supposed to take for the mag oil to penetrate and do it's job)..and then shower it off your body. |

right now i am being particularly fond of EMF protection from something called orgonite ...and i also wear a tachyon pendant..and carry with me.. in a pocket or handbag... an ormus 'stone' that def strenghtens me.
Sis, I am eager to find out how you respond to your pendant. |

Not to get into this whole can of worms, because I can see its a hotbed, but I tend to agree with Keliu: once the cartilage and bone has started to degrade (as opposed to simply swelling and pain) not much is going to actually reverse that process. If it did, it would grant the discoverers a Nobel Prize!
Eliminating gluten, sugar and sugar subs, dairy and whatever other trigger foods are pro-inflammatory for you DOES help with preventing deformities if caught in time. The Arthritis Diet and other Anti-Inflammatory Diets have some good research behind them.
Since eliminating dairy and gluten my sinuses are clear. Dairy is a big mucus former. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, Aprile. When I read what you wrote about your knuckles, I interpreted it as the swelling having gone down, not the bones having changed shape.
When something "flattens", as you wrote, I would imagine that to be swelling that recedes. |

Keliu,
A couple of things regarding your itching when applying the oil. You might want to try using it on your legs, rather than in your armpit, as the skin on the legs is less sensitive.
The other thing that may cause itching with mg. oil is an acidic pH in the body. You might try taking alkaline foods to raise the pH of your body, and then try again. Acidic pH is extremely common these days. |

Yes Mariposa - it was swelling... it made the bone appear to protrude and my hands hurt a lot. After installing the EMF whole house plug, Neutralizers on all my wireless devices and cell phone and using the pillow at work k(which is tiny (6x6) I really feel the difference. I no longer wake up with swollen knuckles and pain. This cannot be a coincidence!! I am very grateful for the recommendation!! Aprile |

Hi Jasmine,
I am curious.. what is orgonite? Is it something you take orally like the Aulterra product? Isn't it amazing how many people are EMF sensitive? I am stunned really. But, it's the world we live in now. I am interested in a pendant as well. I want to get one for my son for EMF protection. I saw on a blog that Jon Lester who pitches for the Boston Red Sox wore one when he pitched in the world series... I believe its billed as an energy device as well. Anyway, he had cancer as a young man and after his ordeal, he was wearing this pendant!! My son is also a pitcher... hey any extra boost he can get on the mound, isnt' a bad thing! Best, Aprile |

Fawnie,
I didn't mean to ignore your comments. I AM gluten and dairy free and it's only on the rare occasion that I eat sweets. I certainly understand what you are sayin about how certain foods that cause inflammation. Heck, I recently bought myself an alkaline pitcher and only drink water, tea and kombucha and 1 cup of organic coffee a day. I'm just saying that after using these EMF prodcts, that I really do feel affirmed that what I was experiencing was extreme overdose of EMFs!!~~ Lol. Aprile |

I am very interested in natural ways to lower stress and cortisol. I know that high stress levels are very aging for me. I've tried some things with only minor success including talk therapy, exercise, deep breathing, meditation, magnesium and others.
Currently I'm looking into Relora, which is a combo of magnolia and phellodendron bark.

Anyone have any experience with Relora? The reviews do seem favorable. |
Shasta,
I bought the NOW Foods version of the Relora. I am willing to try nearly anything that won't make me a zombie to combat anxiety. I'm probably delaying the inevitable, should be on some sort of RX for it but I'm usually pretty good when I exercise 3 times a week and meditate daily. On the worst days, those are the times I don't want to exercise or meditate or do deep breathing, when I need it the most. So have you tried this stuff yet? I was pretty compelled to purchase after reading the links and reviews on amazon too were fairly positive. Please let me know if you're doing anything else.
I still haven't found a FIR mat yet in the price range I want. Depending on my next couple paychecks, I plan to buy the small Biomat. Unless something catches my eye before then. |
For those of you interested in Relora, I thought I'd share my short term experience. I've been taking it for two weeks now. While its not an instant "happy pill", I do notice a subtle effect. I'm worrying less (I'm a big time worrier) and my thinking seems to be a little more focused (less distracted). I've noticed no change to eating habits, although, I wasn't too much of a stress eater. I have had trouble sleeping, but it might be unrelated to the Relora. So far, I'm positive on it. |

Fawnie - As Aprile said I have chronic sinus issues. Recently it's in my chest with a cough and I also also blocked ears. Very, very annoying.
I avoid gluten most of the time - not because of celiac disease or other diagnosis but because I believe it causes 'wheat belly' and messes with the insulin cycle. Diary for me is milk in my coffee and some greek yogart a few times a week at most.
I've noticed when I get away from work and home my symptoms seem to improve. I am very exposed to high amounts of EMF at work - My pendant is an experiment and no matter if it helps with sinus or not the effort will be worth it, if only to reduce that type of exposure. I'd like to know more about what Jasmine is doing also. |

Sis-
If you aren't already using it, add Sambucus to your daily supplements. There have been lots of anecdotal evidence that it helps sinus issues. I take it daily in tincture form just mixed with water when I'm at work and if I'm starting to feel any sort of nose stuffiness or allergy / cold etc, I also keep chewable tablets around to really knock it out and they simply work for me, I just don't get sick nearly as much as I used to, I'm talking maybe one cold a year? Vs my old every 2 months issues developing into sinusitis. It's frequently suggested for people dealing with sinusitis. I've seen one side effect from it after recommending it to a ton of people I know and that's acid reflux. Otherwise, as always, YMMV
Also, Im guessing you use a humidifier in your bedroom at night? |

Sis,
Have you ruled out mold exposure? A very high percentage of sinus conditions are due to fungus from mold exposure. Mold is insidious and prevalent in so many places, and the medical system, both western and alternative, barely acknowledge the physical problems it causes. I know because I have been grappling with hypersensitivity to and infection from it.
I thought of it regarding you when you said you are better when you are away from work or home. |

Sis,
I would also look for environmental triggers at home (mold, air, water, mattress, linens, etc.).
In terms of immunity I tried tons of things, since every cold or virus would trigger sinusitis and ear problems for me; what I found the best for me - Reishi (prlabs 6 a day) and Alli-C (combo of Allicin and Vit.c ; also 6 a day).

Hi Shasta, I tried it on 2 very high stress work days. By second day I noticed a difference in my stress levels, enough so that it made me wonder if it was just the placebo effect. The problem was it gave me a stomach ache shortly after both days? That went away but I didn't like it! I also noticed a tendency to kind of get a little zoned out? That might have been coincidental, not sure I would like to try it on a very full stomach and see how it works over the weekend, which is my plan. |

Yes, they do recommend taking Relora with food. That's what I've done and I've not noticed any stomach issues. If it leaves you zoned out that's probably not a good thing. Interestingly, I felt more focused and less distracted by random worries. |

Hi! I haven't posted in a while, so here are my updates.
Magnesium - I have adjusted to the "Calm" supplement. I am now having the full dose at night before bed and am not having any stomach problems from it. I put it in a teacup and add warm water like tea. It's better than any sleep aid I've ever used. It has improved my sleep a LOT. I am inconsistent with the lotion but have noticed that it is irritating to my arms upper arms and legs. I can use it on my shoulders, lower arms and lower legs with no problems. Magnesium has been very helpful for me and I will continue using it.
Oxygen - I love the ozone water but don't take the time to make it every day. I ordered 35% food grade H202 and have been putting 15 drops in 8oz of distilled water on an empty stomach first thing every morning. I get the same boost I was getting from the ozone water but faster and easier. I still do the ozone water when I have the time, but for me, the H202 works well too.
EMF - I bought the whole house plug, and shields for the families' cell phones. I don't feel any different. Not sure how it should feel. I have read quite a bit about this, and think I have only scratched the surface. I think my EMF's were so bad that what I've done is the equivalent of putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. I still need to address the other wifi devices in my home, and am considering both the pillow, and a pendant. My problem with the pendants is that I have looked at them until I am about cross-eyed. There are so many, and there seems to be way too much room for scams. I have held off buying one until I can get a better sense of what is legit and what is not. Some of the pendants cross over into religion. That's not really what I'm looking for. My only goal is to cancel out harmful EMF's.
Suana - I have a far infrared sauna in my house. I love, love, love that thing! Someone mentioned the EMF problem with that kind of sauna so I will need to address that, but I am still using it. I think the benefits far outweigh the negatives for me.
Ions - I pulled out my old salt crystal lamp and have been keeping it on when I'm in the room. I don't know why I ever stopped using it. I can feel the difference when it's on. The air feels lighter.
Alkaline/magnetized water - I have the delphi alkalizing faucet in my house. I love this thing because it puts out varying degrees of alkalinity and acidity. Acid water is good for cleaning and for pedicures. Stronger alkaline water is good for making coffee, and moderate alkaline is good for drinking. Regardless, the stupid thing broke - AGAIN! Glitchy little sucker. I have to remove the whole unit and send it in again for them to fix it. This is the 2nd time in 3 years. They have an updated model now that is supposed to be better but I have the original. I gave my old alkalizing pitcher to my in-laws, so I had to buy another one to get me through until my unit is fixed. The pitcher is working well, but doesn't give me the acid water and varying degrees of alkalinity. Still, the water tastes great and gives me the kind of water I need for health and bladder problems.
D-Mannose - Someone suggested I try D-Mannose for bladder problems. I had some symptoms recently and tried it. 3 doses later, the problem was gone. I wish someone would have told me about that a long time ago! So, to those people who have problems with recurrent bladder infections, try alkaline water and D-Mannose. Alkaline water helps with acidic urine burning the urinary tract and D-Mannose helps keep bacteria from attaching to the lining of the urinary tract. The D- Mannose powder has very little flavor and tastes slightly sweet mixed in water.
Oh, and I have a question. I have worry/stress problems but also struggle with low energy. My focus has been on restoring my energy and I am making great progress with that. I actually want to exercise again instead of having to force myself. That's big for me. My question is, I looked at Relora but isn't it supposed to be relaxing? Magnesium, is OK because I only take it at night. If I take the Relora during the day, will it simply help with stress or will it deplete the energy I have worked so hard to restore? |

tonia...
I may have mentioned the dmannose to you...I use it regularly, I think if you get UTI's on an annual basis like I used to, you might want to keep up supplementing it every couple days even now that you don't have any symptoms, just to keep it clear. I haven't found, in my research, any problem with taking small doses of it long term, couple times a week, and I'll continue that as long as I don't find out it causes problems
Relora today...no stomach issues yet. I took it at the same time I had a big breakfast. I still think it has a real effect just not sure if it's what I'm looking for, sometimes you need to give something some time to see how it works so I'll keep using it and decide in a couple weeks or so if it's been worthwhile. There's certainly a calming effect there. |

I totally agree!! I was relating a story to some of my girlfriends about a wonderful facial I had today. I stopped into this store I've been wanting to check out for a long time. I cannot believe it even exists on Long Island!! So first I had an oxygen treatment with eucalyptis oil .... it was to open the sinuses. It was wonderful - my sinuses felt immediately open and have stayed open hours later. I've been suffereng with this sinus/cough thing for four weeks now. UGH. Anyway, next I had a reflexology facial ... It included a neck and shoulder massage done while lying down on a table draped in warm blankets. She played beautiful soothing, almost spiritual music and used only organic oils on my skin.... She presses on certain points on the face and it somehow lifts everything up. At the end of the facial I saw a bright light and woke up. Then she said something to me at the end of the facial that she had to share something with me and said ... "Let it go". And that was it. It was so interesting. Anyway, afterwards I got up and she said to me you look beautiful.. I felt great, my skin looked glowing, lifted and full. It was the best facial I've ever had in an area that boasts Botox, fillers, lasers and chemical peels. But regular facials in this area usually run upwards of $140...this cost me $35. YES!!! I wanted to share though that it felt like a spiritual experience. So I'd say Tonia - you hit the nail right on the head. Are any of you familiar with this type of facial? Best, Aprile |

For me, Relora doesn't seem to take away my energy. It just helps to stop the anxiety and unproductive worry. It does not make me sleepy, nor do I feel like a zombie while taking it. YMMV, as everyone is different. |
