I am seeing good results with my IlluMask eye gadget, but I haven't been able to find refills. I emailed their customer service and got no response. I wonder if they are only producing the whole mask to boost sales. It was $30 at WalMart and I will buy another one if necessary, but they do advertise that refills are available.

Hi, Cherallynne! I don't know where to get refills, but if the power mechanism is the same as the face mask, you should look on Amazon. In the reviews for the face mask, people give directions to reset the mask to keep using it. If you can't find refills, maybe risk messing with the circuit board to keep it working? Hope you're having a great year Very Happy

Thanks so much for the idea! I think it's worth a try. I will have to buy another one anyway, so, if I mess it up, I really haven't lost anything.

I bought the full facial IlluMask today and will update when I've had some experience with it.

sorry but i think this item is only a "money maker" led's can live over years. and there is a hardware on this item that says that you only can use it for 30 times.

i use the LightStim for over two yeras. it was a one time buy for 129$ the IlluMask cost 30$ for 30 uses thats for two years 720$

think bevor you buy Very Happy

I just ordered the Rejuvalite MD from Groupon for $120:
http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-rejuvalitemd-at-home-led-anti-aging-device

I googled the specs, and the specs submitted to the FDA were similar or identical to the LightStim in the "Predicate Comparison Chart":
http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/cdrh_docs/pdf13/K133896.pdf

It's a standing unit with an oval head that's 5" by 9" on an adjustable arm like a desk lamp. It's $300 on Amazon and the Trophy Skin site, so I thought it could be a great deal. (There are just over 2 1/2 days left on the deal if anyone else wants to check it out). I can't really motivate myself to sit in front of my DPL too often, so I'm gonna give this one a try. It seems like this unit could do the function of both the Illumask units in one go, and also no worries about limited uses.

I have both a hand held LED and another one which is on a stand. I have used both of them for two or three years. Before that, I had one which I had to sit in front of for 20 minutes a day. I've used LED since they were first marketed and love the results.

I like the convenience of the mask because I can sit upright and it has a timer which stops at 15 minutes. I have repurposed my standing one for use on my arms.

I will try the instructions on amazon.com so I don't have to buy refills, but it that doesn't work, I'll buy one every month if necessary.

Yeah, I totally get it. I really just mentioned the Illumask so I would stay on the topic of the thread Smile. I know about the resetting instructions because I've been researching LED's with amber lights recently, and I was looking at the mask reviews on Amazon. The mask for the eye area looks handy; I hadn't seen that type before. I think I'll like the light I ordered because I could set it by the bed and lay underneath it when I (try to) meditate, or aim it at my freckled chest while sitting. We'll see; I might get bored and have one more device collecting dust Rolling Eyes. I've only used my Dot Matrix twice...

Thank you for posting that link!!! I have been looking for something like that for several years, and this is a great price! I have an AALS, but it is very time consuming. I wanted something to use while relaxing/meditating and this is perfect. I just ordered it. Very Happy

I've looked at the Illumask, but it doesn't have a lot of lights in it. I wonder if that makes it less effective. hmm Either way, I prefer the "buy it once" option instead of having to tinker with it or replace it frequently.

I just bought one, after seeing this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TXtTKtQKTs

I won't try this until the mask has run out of uses, obviously. If it works, then this mask will be a bargain! If it doesn't, not so much...

I reset mine. LED lights last for 1000's of hours. I just put in new batteries and follow the directions to reset with a paper clip. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! The only thing is that you have to be careful because the wiring is very fine when you pull the battery compartment apart so make sure you don't yank and break it.

My husband reset my Illumask using the instructions which were posted under the "Reviews" section on amazon.com. It seemed easier even than the youtube.com video. We didn't even have to replace the batteries. The timer reset just fine, too. I'm so happy with it!
