Microcurrents are my latest hobby, I have been reading various things on the internet. I know they are used for adding tone to the face, increasing collagen and elastin etc...

I came across this article: http://www.clinicaldermatology.eu/materiale_cic/719_1_4/6206_modulated/article.htm.
It is a study on 17 people (so not really a big sample), but results are quite impressive.
Then I decided to take a look at the device used for the study, Rugalift, and I have never seen a device like that, sample applicator: http://www.rugalift.it/catalogo/foto.php?id=10.

Does anybody have any thoughts about this, either the theory of reducing wrinkles, or this particular device, or something similar?

Did you ever experience a wrinkle reduction using microcurrents?

I don't know that I ever considered microcurrent for wrinkles per se. ..But more for stimulating collagen and elastin, muscle and lifting which would kind of make any fine lines or wrinkles a by product..
I do see things like this in reference to microcurrent:Microcurrent stimulates the muscles of the face, it firms and tones the skin by triggering the smooth muscles fibers to undergo natural contraction, strengthen the texture and elasticity of the skin and hence smoothen and refine the folds in the facial skin. It accelerates the production of collagen so that the skin doesn’t become thin or lose.

It does seem like any fine lines or wrinkles that bother us are caused by either sagging, loose or thin skin or repetitive expression which in turn are caused by things like sun damage, lack of collagen and elastin, bone loss and loss of subcutaneous fat.
I'm trying to think of instances, other than very thin or sun damaged skin, where wrinkles are really the main culprit or more just a symptom of other issues.
Microcurrent has helped me tone the jawline and the beginnings of those dreaded marionette lines that form at the corners of the mouth. Very much almost eliminated helped me.
It lifts the eyes but I haven't seen anything much with the under eye area. I'm kind of a chameleon there anyway. Sometimes I only have lines there when I smile and sometimes I wake up line free at rest ...and sometimes a few fine lines. Maybe a matter of hydration?
My thought about that were in trying to thicken the skin because it seems the less I mess with that area the better it looks. I can tolerate Retin A under the eyes but it's said to take a long time to thicken there,.
If anyone has helped the under eye with microcurrent I would be interested to hear.

So when you speak of wrinkles what kind of wrinkles do you mean?
I usually think of things like Red light therapy, laser or Retin A when it comes to fines lines.
But everything seems to be about stimulating collagen, doesn't it? If it all worked we'd all have pretty fluffy thick skin.

Also, I've never seen anything like that Ruga device. I'd like to know more about it or see it in action.
