Hello Ladies,
I am considering buying a microcurrent device.
Any recommendation?
The objective is lifting or preventing further sagging.
Thanks a lot

I recently purchased the Facemaster by Suzanne Sommers. I used it for a few weeks and it broke and I just got the replacement. I thought it was really working..but now I have to start all over again. The return process was tedious and they made me pay for all the shipping to replace the faulty device.
In my opinion.. I'd buy the competitor nuface device. I know it is more expensive..but I think It would be easier to use since it is in one unit..not two wands you have to navigate. also..the face master has these sponge tips you have to put on the wands and they fall off easily.. very aggravating.
I've read great reviews on the nuface.. you may want to look at the hot and flashy youtube video review. I think she is pretty honest in her assessment of DYI devices as well as many other anti-aging products. |

I have the Intensity TENS / microcurrent unit I got from TENSpros.com . I use it for microcurrent with some silver gloves (Amazon) and also wand probes. The wand probes are from 7E Wellness; it needed a couple of adapters (USB to pin, USB male to female (or f to m, I forget)) in order to plug it into the jack. It is very cheap solution, but you have to figure out the settings yourself and I am just guessing at the appropriate pulse width since I have not found any specifications for dedicated facial microcurrent devices which include pulse width, just current level and frequency. The unit itself is great and I use it for TENS as well.
My big worry about microcurrent in general is my mercury amalgam fillings and the possibility that the current is mobilizing mercury and/or silver ions into my saliva. I get phosphenes (light flashes) when used around the eyes meaning the current is penetrating deep enough to stimulate the optic nerve. Many people report a metallic taste in their mouth when using various brands of microcurrent devices and I think I notice it, too. I'd like to get all my fillings replaced but the dentist said, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'... also, it's expensive. OTOH Dale Bredesen has had success treating some people diagnosed with Alzheimer's by treating them for mercury exposure, a process which includes removing their amalgam fillings. So how much is my brain worth? |
