Okay, this must be an old manuscript. Penicillin was first used successfuly in 1942 (discovered about 15 years earlier). Television in the 30's, although it became a real thing in the 40s'. Bird's Eye was freezing foods in the 30's. These are off the top of my head, so may be off a little, but you get the idea.
I'm 51. I remember some of these things (from elementary school), but many are more about my parents' time.
I do remember going up to the school to get the Sabine sugar cube polio vaccine. I remember it being such a celebratory event, on a Sunday. Everyone was so happy and cheery. I was very wee. |
