I'm not abejita, but I also had bought one of those before my ilap. It did help cool the PC down a bit, but I found it more useful as a desktop pad, than a lap pad. There are different models though ... the one we got had extra USB ports and stuff with it. The ilap works better for me because it helps cool the PC and is more comfortable when using on the sofa and stuff (the cooling pad wasn't as comfortable when using it off the desk).
Here's a link to the cooling pad we'd bought to give you an idea of what they are all about. It's $65, but without the USB ports and stuff you can get them much cheaper.
