I went for my yearly eye exam today and was anxious to ask my Doc what the implications were of using an eyelash serum that has Glaucoma medicine in it (when you don't have glaucoma.) He said he wouldn't hurt you!!! He said we all have some pressure in the eye so it would just reduce some of that. I told him the serum (in my case, Revitalash) also made my eyes very dry, but he did not feel this was from the Glaucoma medicine ingredient. Personally, I am relieved about hearing this and might use it again. I stopped out of fear and also because of the dry eye (even though the results were great!)

Sorry about the typo in my initial post. Regarding the lash serums with the Glaucoma medicines in it, the Doc said "IT won't hurt you." One thing he also said is that the Glaucoma medicine "darkens the brown pigment in the eye, mostly effecting people with hazel eyes"...so that could be side effect. He was very curious and interested about the existence of these serums since the FDA may not have approved them "YET" for this use, but he was aware it might be coming down the pike.

Heads up, if you want to help remedy this dry eye phenomenon, try Similasan brand eye drops. They're a homeopathic eyedrop manufacturer, but they can usually be tracked down at nicer drug stores. Most natural tears type formulas actually contain some kinda sketchy ingredients, so I prefer the all-natural way. My eyes dry out very easily and I wear glasses and am constantly at the computer, and I also suffer from allergies. Similasan drops all help a ton. They have many formulas, but to be perfectly honest I don't think there's a huge difference. They also make one-use individual droppers with no preservatives, which are fabulous for travel or purses.
