Sorry to hear that you were badly burned, and it sounds like you ought to be wearing an extremely high SPF such as La Roche Posay - Anthelios L SPF 60.

Other products which may help: Thalgo Ocea Sun or Murad Pomphenol Sunguard Supplement.

After sun: Dermalogica After Sun Repair, Phytomer Instant Repair Soothing Moisturizing After-Sun Milk, Thalgo After-Sun Hydra-Soothing Veil, Pevonia Ligne Soleil After-Sun Soothing Gel, or La Roche-Posay Posthelios After-Sun Repair Care Concentrate.

If your skin is THAT sensitive, then you might want to invest in light-weight, UV protectant clothing available on the market. Example:

Hm, are you very very fair? It sounds like you might even have a sun allergy, or a hypersensitivity. I know some people who are particularly photosensitive use products with micronized silver in them, instead of the usual physical blockers (like micronized titanium dioxide or zinc oxide). I also recall having received a catalog for those who are photosensitive once, with special clothing and sunblocks. I would see a dermatologist about it if I were you, especially if you can get an appointment while you're still showing symptoms (but don't go TRYING to get a burn for this - I'm no expert, but it sounds like the kind of burn you're describing can be pretty harmful!). SkinCancer.org has a catalog available, and also Coolibar seems to be a brand of sun-sensitive products. You may just really need to close the sunroof and be good about wearing a hat and a light, long-sleeved shirt (think an airy white linen button-down - still fashionable and summery, but covers you up better than any cream can!). Good luck!

i dont burn that easily but ONCE, only once, i didnt put sunscreen on in the 34C sun and hoy badly burnt on the shoulders. i used fresh aloe vera on it for a few days then a mild Johnsons and Johnsons lotion with aloe vera to the burnt areas and within a month or so, the red spotty parts were gone...wish the scars on my face are that easily removed!
