They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so lets see how many brave souls we have who would like to share.
The following is what's happening to me from 40 to my present age of 55. The biggest decline is since the big "M" at age 50.
I started to use LightStim in 9/07, and added DW to my ritual a couple of weeks ago. I do believe I'm seeing some improvement! The giant picture of me is at 54, no makeup, in all my wrinkles, red glory. The last one is the most recent. Notice the improvements after using LS...
If this thread is of any interest to ya'll, it would be a good way to share photos and acutually see the resutlts of all the "tools" we use.
If I did the pictures right, (fingers crossed here), the age in order is; 40, 45, 52, 54, 55 (before "tools") + 55 (present since "tools")
Kassy..

Great, thanks a lot, just what I need, another "toy"........LOL....
But now that you mention that, I seem to remember scally saying the same thing...
Argh!! You guys are killing me.....There aren't enough hours in the day as it is.. thank God I'm retired now, who has time to work!

BTW Kassy do you have the Clarisonic yet? Seriously, I do LOVE the Clarisonic system. My Nuface should be here within a few days. It was your posts that led me to give it a try. I don't have the Derma Roller....not yet |

OK you asked for it. This pic was taken today. Pardon the hat but besides loving hats I am having a bad hair day. I use the Quasar SP, Clarisonic, Janson Beckett Skincare lines (3 years), CPs, Vivier C 20, Facial Flex (not faithful lately), plus anything else that might temp me. I ordered the Nuface but have not received it yet. This is actually a good picture or I would not post it . My eye area is a problem (fat deposits) but glasses hide. As I am getting older my pores on my chin have gotten much larger. I must say that I look younger today then I did before joining EDS. My pocketbook is proof. To date I have not had any cosmetic procedures. Toying with Botox on forehead (hat hiding deeper lines) but doubt I will do it. I am 63 this month. I like looking good but will be OK with what the aging process brings. |

I'll be glad to share the 'specs', as I perceive them.
1.) It's made of a lightweight plastic, and is 8" X 3" in diameter. Very comfortable to hold and maneuver. I'd estimate it weighs about 1/2 lb.
2.) It has 72 4mm bulbs, in a 3 inch round head, (red, infra red + amber). It covers more than a 4" area at a time when treating.
3.) I read elsewhere on the Quasar thread about 'joules'. The AT fellow said in a post that the Quasar SP gives 4 to 8 joules....The LightStim gives 32. I don't really know what that means, I'm just relaying what I've been told.
I am sooooooo very happy that I upgraded to the new anti-aging LightStim. I'm absolutely flabbergasted at the results I'm seeing after less than a week. It was the best $297.00 I ever spent.

Thank you Kassy, it really helps!!
Joules info can be misleading without knowing the time and area for which those joules produced. It could be said that a device of the size of football field produces the same amount of joules as a device of the size of a matchbox, obviously the intensity for them would be different.
We need to compare apples to apples. The most logical way would be to get the number of joules per square inch per second, then we will be talking in the same terms. Somehow companies do not disclose the info easily that makes the comparison close to impossible. |

Well... DPL, Lightstim, BQ, QSP are all the same technology. The only difference might be in intensity and quality. And we do not have good comparison at this time.

Assuming the quality is the same, the difference in the devices will be in the time required for treatments, otherwise supposedly the results should be comparable for all the devices. Users of multiple devices might be able to provide more info. |

I can only share about LightStim since it's the only LED I have.
"The Anti-Aging Light™ mixes unique skin-specific Amber LED bulbs along with red and infrared LED bulbs. There are a total of 72 high-grade, high-output individual bulbs of varying wavelengths between 580nm and 1000 nm. The total output of which is 9,000mW!" (This is a quote from the website).
I was told in a phone conversation that the joules were 32 per square inch. |

Kassy, can you spell out exactly what your routine is using the Lightstim.
Thanks, Carol |
Sure Carol, happy to. There isn't any drama or pages of instruction though:
1.) Cleanse face, neck, decollete'. (I use alpha hydroxy face wash + a wash cloth)I don't use toner.)
2.) Apply a high quality antioxidant serum/cream I make myself. (My skin is no longer dry, so I use serum mostly)
3.) Get comfy on the couch and have at it as follows;
I start at the bottom and work my way up (7 chest areas, 4 neck + 12 face). Trying not to let the light escape, I glide the light to each area and hold it for 2 minutes, overlapping a bit as I go. My entire treatment takes about 30 minutes. When I have plenty of time to spare, I do 3 minutes per spot and then it's just about an hour.
LightStim has no flashing lights or modes to contend with. All lights work in unison.
The object is to treat each area for 2 solid minutes. Keep your eye closed when treating that immediate area (I hold it directly over my eye for 1 minute).
I also treat the tops of my hands now + then with good results.
I'm happy to answer questions anytime!

As for the trade in, I don't see it on the website lately,my advice is to call customer service at 714-602-2412 (direct line).. They also have an 800 # on the website (lightstim.com).. They do have a special reduced price for anyone buying two lights..The lights available are Original, Anti-Aging + Acne.
DiPhx, The first, and only other light I ever used was the Original LightStim back in Sept. 07. I saw very quick results with that, especially in my skin texture and tone. It is also amazing on my miserable arthritic knee and cervical spine.
When the new Anti Aging light came out, I was on the fence wondering if it was worth the investment. I spoke with customer service several times, and asked exactly what "additional" results I could expect with the new light. The response was that it was especially designed to target anti aging concerns with the addition of the amber lights. They also said that the Original would still do the same thing, but would take longer for the same results.
After quite a bit of research, I decided to take the plunge and buy it. But I was so happy with the Original, that I didn't want to part with it, so now I have both. I haven't used the original one on my face in the last three weeks though, because I wanted to see the good/bad of the new one, without anything else conflicting with the results.
At this point I am prepared to introduce my other gadgets back into my routine. I love my Derma Wand. It just brightens and lifts my whole face, especially eyes, and feels really nice. I will also give my NuFace another try, and be a little more aggressive with it this time.
As you found in your personal results, I also have experienced "plateaus", where I just didn't see huge differences. And then I gave myself a reality check, and came to the conclusion, that the subtle differences are in themselves great. After all, it took 56 years to reach this point, so I should be dancing a jig to see the aging subtly starting to reverse after only 5 months..
The best advice I feel I have to offer is this; 1.) take lots of pictures. Without them for proof, you will miss many positive subtle changes. 2.) be very consistent. I try to use my gadgets each several times per week.

Ok Kassy you really do look FABULOUS!!! And I don't know why I decided to buy the marvel mini(I've read this thread before (I'm regretting not buying a lightstim right now, if anyone could tell , but maybe people on this forum could learn from me (the marvel mini user), and I guess I have to live with this device for a little while longer...And if it really doesn't seem like it's doing much for the hyperpigm. I will let everyone now. I see my pigm. lightening, but the results are not dramatic. I will be investing in a lightstim...I really want one now after seeing your pictures because your skin tone is flawless!
Why do you recommend not using the pulsating mode? The marvel has both continuous and pulsating, and the rec. treatment is 9 mins. on pulsating and 15 mins. on constant for the marvel...Is there a big difference in keeping the LED lights constant? Hmmm...should I try doing my daily treatments on constant? Thanks everybody for giving out great advice! |
gellys, don't get discouraged. Know that everyone has different results. Some respond quicker than others. Kassy has had outstanding results. I am sure it is a combination of product and her LightStim. |

Oh Kassy your daughter is absolutely lovely. I will now share a photo taken the other night of me and my 40 year old DD. She would kill me if she saw this posted. DD is my baby. My son just turned 42.
I have been using my LED (Quasar) (1+ yr), Nuface(5 mos.) and Gly Med Plus products for a month. I am blown away with the FlexEffect program. It really seems to be working. Lets see if I stay consistent.
BTW: Excuse the shiny apple cheeks. This was taken at a birthday celebration after a couple of cosmos. |

Winnie,
I am so glad you are noticing the changes with flexeffects. I really think this program that makes the biggest difference, it can really tighten up the saggy look. I must admit the only thing that I have seen that gives similar results is what Kassy achieved with her lightstim. The combination of the two could be DYNOMITE So Winnie sense you have both we will have to look out!! Go girl!!!!!!!!Both you and Kassy are defying the aging which is wonderful because I am right behind you!!!!! |
