Hi. I've used Bare Minerals too (as well as PurMinerals and Everyday Minerals) and I too have red spots that seem to never go away. To keep my skintone even, I use Jane Iredale Disappear for the spots and then Jane Iredale pressed powder for the rest of my face. It allows me to wear less foundation overall, but really even out the redness. I know it's not an "all-in-one" but sometimes you just need 2 things to solve 2 different problems.

HTH!

Hi Babs! I found a great foundation/moisturizer that I have fell in love with. It is Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer. Application is easy because it is a moisturizer, but you get coverup because it is tinted. It contains an SPF of 20 so you have the needed daily protection against sun's rays. Plus, it just feels really good on the skin. Check it out!

I second Lunasol by Kanebo. I bought it when I was traveling in Asia. Kanebo products are difficult to find in Australia and I don't think Kanebo have launched the Kanebo Lunasol range in the US.

An economical and effective, totally natural looking tinted moisturizer is Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer. It is an oil free Sheer tint with vitamin infused Retinol treatment and SPF 20 moisturizer.
It will not cover spots. I accomplish that by dabbing Dermablend cover creme with a Q-tip on a couple of spots.
In her book "Don't Go to the cosmetic counter without me" Paula Begoun recommends it.

I use Bobbi Brown too. I use their Moisture-Rich but its probably too oily for you but before I tried it, I used one of their products that wasn't enough moisture for me so it would be perfect for someone with oilier skin. They give out samples at their counters so you might want to try it.

Foundation should be bought in accordance to your skin type and tone. Only listen to people who share you skin type, what looks amazing on some women may look awful on you.

If your skin is oily, use a powder foundation.
Ben Nye, do a great powder foundation called 'color cake'.
It can last throughout the entire day, through the harshest conditions and there are many colours to chose from - its about one of the only lines that actually matches pale skin lasses, I am like casper, and I still find a match, its not even the palest colour in their line! Find one that matches your skin coloring as well as tone. Please not that the colours come up lighter then they are shown online, I would recommend seeing if you can buy these from a store near you instead of online if you can help it, they are sould in theatrical supply stores.

These foundations are the same price as drug store but have the quality of high end foundations - they are awesome.

If you have dry skin, use a liquid foundation, even cream foundations seem to highlight dry patches, the is a great foundation from makeup forever called 'face and body foundation' which is really pretty.

Then theres a beautiful foundation called Face Altier, but its pretty expensive (around $50.00). But its stunning, it makes the face glow, melts into skin while covering imperfections. Although these foundations are yellow based, so only work for warm skin tones.

But you can buy colour correctors, but I think its just all a little pricey, but if you disagree then go for it =)! You can also adjust the colours with the companies 'zero minus' and 'zero plus' mixes, which are great but still another '$50.00'. You can only buy these online, but they really are the best!

For your acne marks: the best concealer I have ever used is 'keromask' concealer, its amazing covers like a dream and lasts! You can only buy it online though.

Also if you want to greatly decrease the acne scars, apply MSM cream to them.

Personally I hate BE, I find it just sits on peoples skin, and draws attention to pores and wrinkles - it also breaks a lot of people out.

<3 hope this helps!

Can you buy Lunasol by Kanebo in the US? I have never heard of it but a few of you seem to really like it.

OK...I need help. I am looking for a good foundation w/medium coverage. I don't like it when it looks like I am wearing foundation. I currently use Bare Minerals..I do like it but I want too see what others are using and like. My skin has some marks from past acne and some foundations really show them up. Not sure what to do..need coverage but not cakey...I am thinking I would prefer a liquid, maybe a tinted moisturizer but I am afraid it might be too oily for my skin....What's everyone out there using????

I have oily skin and liquid always looks caked. Try MAC powder foundation, the coverage is excellent and not cakey, also good for oily skin, this will cover marks and redness. You have to get the right shade because there are about 40 different shades. You can use it wet or dry depending on how much coverage you want. . Also it is fragrance free so wont irritate the skin. Good luck and hope this helps

Babs- I have acne/blemish prone, combination skin so I dabbled in tons of different foundations before I found a combo that worked for me. I have a lot of redness in my skin tone and it's extremely uneven. I hate the feeling of splattering cakey foundation all over my face,so now I just use a Biotherm sunless tanner gel after I wash my face at night. In the morning I wake up with a radiant glow and my skin's a lot more even. The dark under my eyes looks diminished with the contrast of the tanned face and white undereye area. After washing my face, I put on Perfeckt Skin Perfection Gel (about $60 at Sephora). It really goes on smoothly for a sheer to medium coverage, hides all redness, refines the look of pore, covers fine lines. On top of that it's an antioxidant and vitamin enriched plus oil Free. Fragrance-free. Paraben-free. Great new product. I think it's one of their top sellers. Try it out!

Also if you look on Sephora's website under FACE you can choose formulation/skin type/coverage when you search. That may help filter out some bad choices.
