Microcurrent Help Needed - Galvanic or Not?

Microcurrent and Galvanic, while different types of current, both share the goal of stimulating the collagen/elastin layer of the skin and rejuvenate the ability to tighten. The level of improvement is directly related to the condition of the collagen/elastin layer, thickness of the skin, and age. Both of these currents will have a far more dramatic and positive effect on younger skin. As an esthetician, I see the greatest results in people (men use it, too) who are 35-50, though I have absolutely seen improvement on over 50's.

Galvanic has multiple benefits. The positive charge does deep cleaning, and the negative charge pushes treatment products deeper into the skin. When used one after the other, the collagen/elastin layer gets stimulated and temporarily improves the appearance of sagging and wrinkles. The more often done, the longer the results will eventually hold.

Accupuncture/accupressure are also helpful, but need to be done in some 12 closely spaced treatments. I'm guessing the cost varies from city to city, so wouldn't venture a guess on that.

In my esthetics work, I use tuning forks to simulate accupuncture for some of my clients, and jade massage rollers for pushing treatment lotions deeper into the skin, moving lymph, and reducing puffiness around the eyes.

I also use galvanic, but not microcurrent. I have nothing against microcurrent, I just don't see a need for it with all the other methods I do have at my disposal.

Personally, I like the NuSkin Galvanic device, and highly recommend it to my clients who want something easy, dependable, and effective they can use at home in between facial appointments.

Suzanne Somers has a device out called "FaceMaster" that is a double probe microcurrent unit for inhome use. It is inexpensive, but I know nothing about it other than it exists.

I have the new NuSkin galvanic spa II that came out in March of this year. It is the ageloc model and is stronger(5X) than the older model. I like it and can tell a difference with lifting and toning after using it. I think the results are both long and short term. I don't like the way it is marketed and the gels are way too expensive. I bought gels much cheaper on ebay until I found the Rankine Remedies website that Skippie suggested in a post somewhere here. I am now using their gels and like them better they are about 40.00 for a 10 month usage. I am sure there are galvanic devices cheaper than the NuSkin. The NuSkin is very easy to use and some of the other devices may be more complicated. This is a video on the Rankine Remedies website that is good to watch.
