I don't think you need to wash with a cleanser first. The point of the micro cloth is that it takes everything off (dead cells, dirt, makeup, oil, etc.) without needing cleanser. And an advantage is that you do not need a wait time after washing and before applying an active like Vit C or retinol because you have not disturbed the acid mantle/PH balance as you would have if you had used a cleanser. (I might not be saying this exactly right; I am repeating what I've read elsewhere.)
BTW, there is no need to wash them by hand or save them up for a special load. Just toss the microfiber cloths into an old pillowcase, seal the end of the case with an elastic like a ponytail holder, and throw them in the wash with whatever load you're doing.
The old pillowcase trick also works for other items (stockings, undies, fuzzy socks, etc.) that you want to keep separate from the other laundry. |
