hi there,
below is what i'm doing to conquer thinning and aging hair. i'm writing my hair project journey in case that some other member may stumble upon it and have need for such information. i hope that it can help someone.
i have found with age that my hair mass has decreased to half of the original amount. by this i mean the whole hair shaft all gathered into one hand, and the pony tail bunched and squeezed in between the middle finger and thumb, forming the letter "O". from my teenager years and from my 20's, i've noticed my massive and lush hair has substantially decrease. also, for each strand i have noticed a thinner and weaker hair.
reaching my 40's soon, i want to prevent further deterioration: prevention of mass shedding and growing new/more hair.
first i started with growing products. i thought this would be the best way to tackle my problem. i'm currently using the following.
-revitalash hair-sucessfully growing in a thin patch near the left temple. while using this on my temple, i use on the major sections of my scalp: bangs, crown, back, and both sides. this solution is like water and there is no sensation, no odour, etc. its easy to 'wear' because it feels like nothing is there. very easy.
-jan marini hair-i alternate this product with the revitalash hair. sometime, i use both products together. though this may be an overkill, i like to take a full attack on my hair and try to cover all bases. this is a cream lotion applied to the scalp and massaged. it is lightly scented which dissipates quickly. it is not greasy, but moreover feels as though it gives a lift to the roots and thus more volume. jan marini gives the hair an instant volume while leaving the hair natural and healthy looking. whenever i use this on freshly washed hair, it makes me look like 'lion hair'. something is love. i use this product for its instant effect but more importantly, from the ingredient, i know this will grow some new hair.
-another topical that i have ordered and expecting delivery on is the osmotics fns serum for hair. when this arrives i will add it to the stock pile of hair growth products and incoporate it in to my haircare routine.
-paddle brushing-a manual massage using a paddle brush. this routine i do at least once a day, usually in the evenings before bed. it invigorates and stimulates the scalp while gently exfoliating any dry dead skin and dislodges any sebum.
-electric massage with the pillow massager (seen at the beginning of this post)-while the paddle brushing massages the surface scalp, this electric massage pillow massages the muscles of my scalp. this is something that i believe is crucially important for a healthy scalp and full hair. the massage pillow i use every other night. being greedy and trying to fit in as many beneficial processes into my haircare, i use 2 20 minute intervals for my whole scalp. this massager is amazing! since using this massager, i have noticed less tension in my head. it gently kneads out my tension, and soothes my muscles. my head is more rounded, and scalp is more cushiony to the poke. i feel that this muscle massage gives the scalp added benefits. hair thinning issues or not, this massager i will continue to use for general wellbeing.
-a new electric massager that i will be incorporating into my haircare and skincare routine. this is magnetic massager with spinning and rotation metal balls. i haven't received it yet but dying to try it out on my scalp and face (anti aging). this is similar to the professional grade viora. i'm testing this home gadget to see if there are any benefits and need to upgrade to the pro series. this little sucker i'm really excited to test out! yay! though it may not go well for my hairy scalp and all the turning and twisting moving parts, i know this should feel amazing and have some wonderful benefits to my face and body.
-another sonic gadget that i'm receiving shortly will be the tested on the scalp. if it fails on my scalp, i'm sure i'll use it for my face care (anti aging). though i have other beauty-anti aging gadgets including sonic gadgets, i could not resist to add this to the shopping cart as well.
k, sorry there. i get carried away with gadgets and gizmos. my favourite.
on to the second part of haircare which would be addressing hair loss/shedding. i covered hair growth in the first section but until recently never thought about hair shedding. all my life i have always had high turn over in hair growth and loss. i would shed alot but always had full lush hair. up until my 30's, whenever i went to the salon, the stylist would always complain that i had too much hair. long time ago when i had perms done, the stylists thought my hair was a nuisance and would charge me extra because i had too much hair and it would take them much longer.
i've always shed much hair and with no ill effect to the overall state of my mane. also, my family sheds alot of hair. i always thought shedding came with growing... an ongoing process. however, now as i'm older i find the state of my mane unacceptable. it seems that there is more shedding and thinning, than anything else. in addition, living a stressful and high paced life does not help the thinning process. i find that when stressful situations arise my hair goes through a mass shedding. i never paid much attention to it before. i kept relying on the fact that my body would naturally recover and grow more hair. and i think this was the case when i was younger.
now that i'm older, it hasn't. i don't know if it is stress or just aging. it seems thinning hair for me is gradual... and that my thin phases never bounce back to 'full'. i fully noticed this in my mid 30' and now accept that it will not go back to "full" unless i intervene.
intervention:
in past 3 weeks of a horridly stress work phase, i anticipated the worse for my hair. as a desperate measure i ran out to the mall seeking solutions/prevention for the inevitable hair shedding.
-ecrinal anp 40 ampoules- smells like a mixture of herbs. is a light oily mixture applied to the scalp and left on. it is for treating hair loss/thinning... preventing shedding. this works! i really mean it! this package that i picked up a SDM actually works. this treatment nullified the mass shedding that i was anticpating from stressful few weeks. the hair that i lost from brushing, bathing, combing... was and still is very minimal. i'm very impressed. i'm so impressed i wonder why no one else here has used this and made a review???
-phytohair thinning hair ampoules- another treatment that works! it reduces hair loss significantly.
i've been so impressed with these hair loss preventives, that i have order many more from ecrinal, phyto hair, and rene furterer. basically after the initial full attack program lasting 1-2 months, the maintenance is only 1 ampoule per week. these ampoule scalp treatments, even if i have to use it once every week for the rest of my life, it is well worth it!!! i would have never believed it... i thought it was all hype... but these really work to reduce shedding.
right now, for shedding i'm using phyto hair and ecrinal ampoules. however, i have ordered other products which work in the same way.
ordered:
-2 revitalash hair
-2 jan marini hair
-2 osmotics fns serum
-2 phyto hair ampoules (12)
-4 ecrinal ampoules
-4 Rene Furterer Triphasic VHT Regenerating Formula, 8 x 0.18 fl. oz. vials
-4 Rene Furterer RF80 Concentrated Hair Strengthening Formula, 12 Ampoules
i've been so happy with my results from the hair loss ampoules that i've ordered enough to last for 1 year. hopefully by then i should have regained most of my mane.
i hope this review helps someone else that is in need of some prevention. if you have any feedback with these products, please let me know. i've been using the growth products for 3 months and the loss prevention ampoules for 3 weeks. i would love to hear your feedback on these products and how they've worked for you! |
