I have been researching the claims some products made on increasing subcutaneous fat after accidentally finding that on Cp's:

Extract from: http://www.reverseskinaging.com/tighten.html

Quote:
As Copper-peptides help tighten skin, they also improve healthy fat volume by increasing increasing the subcutaneous fat layer (baby fat).

I have not found many user's of CP's backing up this state other than Alexes post on the CP's thread.

However I kept researching and found some stuff on the net claiming the application of some topicals leads to an increase of adipocytes (sub cutaneous fat). Most of them are addressed to breasts or buttocks, but interesting enough I have found references to the same products could be used on hands and cheeks:

Lab. Sederma -the labs who made matrixyl 3000- has a new active called VOLUFILINE:

http://truthinaging.com/face/dept-of-daft-rodial-boob-job/

Quote:
...It is called Volufiline and it is made by cosmetics ingredients company Sederma. Volufiline is, in fact, the combination of hydrogenated polyisobutene, a synthetic oil that is widely used in cosmetics, and root extract of the anemarrhenae asphodeloides plant, a laxative that is also used to make soap. Unlikely as it may seem, this combination is good at stimulating the adipocytes, the connective tissue that makes and stores fat.

This, non hormonal, treatment stimulates adipocyte differentiation, proliferation and volume in order to bring volume where it is needed

http://www.crodausa.com/html_product_sheets/SedfeatureVolufiline.htm

Quote:
Clinically tested, VOLUFILINE increased the bust volume of small breasted women. VOLUFILINE is also recommended to help plump the buttocks, hands, cheeks and any other part of the body or face that needs volume filling.

IN VITRO EVALUATION OF VOLUFILINE
Adipocytes
 Cell volume increased over 22 times!
Lipid storage increased more than 600%!
Pre-adipocytes
 Cell differentiation increased by more than 200%!

CLINICAL STUDIES SHOW INCREASE IN BREAST PLUMPING AFTER VOLUFILINE APPLICATIONS
 Enlargement after 56 days reached as much as 8.4%!
Non-Warranty: The information in this publication is given in good faith by Sederma® by way of general guidance and for reference purposes only.
I wonder about independent studies over this... All what I have found is from Sederma...

This site does not says what is the active ingredient in its formulation, but has good graphics to check. I suspect the active is the same one from sederma, volufiline:

Quote:
The effect of the patented active component over adipocyte (fat cells) is proved by scientific experiments.

Phytosterol with no hormonal activity:
- Stimulates adipocyte proliferation and differentiation.
- Promotes lipid storage.
- Increase of adipocyte volume in the fatty tissue.
- Can be applied on breast, buttock, hands o]r cheeks.

Hi have found this DIY ebay seller (sort of skin actives) who formulates and sells its own products. This one is formulated as a bust serum but the ingredients list looks very good to me. I want to contact the seller and ask if he has any experience with this product used on other areas of the body as hands:

Forever Young 'Aumenti' Bust Enhancement and Firming Lotion
Here are the active ingredients
Bio-Bustyl® contains two complimentary biopeptides that stimulate collagen synthesis and replenish the elastic properties of the skin to firm the body and breasts. Bio-Bustyl® has been shown to be effective to firm loose or sagging skin resulting from weight loss, childbirth, nursing or natural aging.
In clinical studies Bio-Bustyl® is shown to:
 Increase skin firmness by +18.5%
 Increase tone by +13%
 Reduce skin fatigue by 16.5
 Stimulate collagen synthesis by as much as 350%.
Volufiline®.is a remarkable product that increases the volume of tissue by increasing the amount of fat cells in particular areas (the area to which Volufiline is applied) and increasing the volume of fat in these cells by up to 22%. In tests on women between 18 and 35 with a cup size between 30A and 34AA applied a cream containing 5% Volufiline to one breast for 56 days. On average the treated breast tissue increased in volume by up to 8.4% over the untreated breast.
Vexel® combines caffeine with palmitoyl-carnitine to help improve tone, firm, restore elasticity and reduce slackening of skin especially for the stomach, arms and décolleté. In Clinical Studies panelists who used Vexel TM for 28 days reported that the skin was more toned by 73%, firmer 78%less slack 85%.
The three actives above are manufactured by Sederma - the company that developed the famous Matrixyl, Eyeliss, and Haloxyl active ingredients

Tri-peptide 5 - a peptide with the ability to penetrate deep into the skin to work within the dermis itself. Tri-peptide is so effective that clinical research shows that it can even repair the damaged collagen and elastin bundles that create stretch marks. This active is included in our lotion for one simple reason - if collagen and elastin fibres within the dermis can be strengthened then the breast will have better support and lose some of that 'droop'

The active ingredients are carried in lotion that is designed to support the role of the active ingredients. The lotion contains Emu Oil, highly regarded for its ability to penetrate the skin and carry active ingredients with it, and Rosehip oil which has been used traditionally for hundreds of years to improve the skin - especially in its ability to improve stretch marks. The base lotion contains high levels of Vitamins D and E, and significant levels of Vitamin A and C, all of which are wonderful for the skin.

Lierac has Lipofilling Correction Volumes Cream and lipofilling nuit.
This one is addressed specially for the face:

Quote:
[size=18]Rich and ultra-comfortable, this regenerating cream acts during the night when skin cells are most receptive. Combined with the volumizing complex exclusive to LIERAC, an Asian plant extract helps increase the size of adipocytes**Cells capable of storing fat to preserve facial volumes. and boost their multiplication. Enriched with lavender essential wax, sweet almond, althea and linseed, this cream provides targeted nutrition. Night after night, facial volumes appear rebalanced, the features seem “lifted”, the skin feels denser and more elastic.

I don't get this: What do they mean about "cells capable to storing fat to preserve facial volumes"???? good back up for the company...
So if doesn't work for me is because my cells can't store fat? or are they telling you do not put it on your lashes, 'cause lashes cells are unable to store fat Confused ...Confused

Other products containing this type of active/s:

-MOSBEAU SUPERB BUST & BUTT ENHANCER

-Pupa Breast Enhancer Intensive Treatment

-Rodial Boob Job

Do you know of any other active/ingredient with lipo-filling action?
Have any of you tried any of these products?
What do you think? Question Question Question

Kombuchka is the trademark of a cosmetic active version of kombucha that is intended to produce a lipofilling effect upon topical application.

According to Dr. Zoe Draelos, this substance is high in organic acids and B vitamins, and includes glycerin and hydroxyethylcellulose. It is said to exert a cosmetic effect by hindering glycation and augmenting cultured fibroblast factors to further adipocyte maturation, thereby expanding subcutaneous fat on the face and hands.

Dr. Draelos notes that skin smoothness is the clinical test used to evaluate the level of lipofilling and, importantly, moisturization and exfoliation can confound such a determination ("What is the difference between spa line and cosmetic counter skin care products?" Cosmetic Conundrums, Dermatology Times, Nov. 1, 2004).

Revercel PM combines palmitoyl oligopeptide (Dermaxyl) and diacetyl boldine (Lumiskin), the latter is a potent antioxidant derived from the bark of a tree that grows in the Chilean and Peruvian Andes.

The product also contains Kombuchka, along with botanicals such as jojoba esters, apricot kernel oil, sunflower seed oil, and shea butter. Revercel PM is designed to restore tone, volume, and healthy color to the skin, and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Kombuchka is also used in Global Beauty Anti-Ageing Radiance Cream, which was created by Dr. Laurent Miralles. He claims that his 3% concentration results in an increase in collagen cells and adipocytes that expand skin volume

Kombucha shows promise, but much more work is necessary to determine whether this popular compound can confer dermatologic benefits.

A patent pending extract:

13. The method of claim 1, further comprising an agent useful to stimulate subcutaneous lipid synthesis.

[0015]The invention being the subject of this patent application also relates to a product which allows mimic the plastic surgery. The aim is to make a cosmetic "lipofilling" by carrying out a cutaneous filling by increasing the adipocyte mass, which, being newly formed by the organism itself, will gum or reduce the importance of the wrinkles while ensuring a perfect tolerance and painless to the consumer. The principle of this cosmetic lipofilling is the stimulation of the lipids synthesis by cutaneous adipocytes. These effects were studied and shown, in vitro and in vivo, and will be clarified in the examples given in this patent application.

[0034]We also observed and showed that kombucha, by topical application, makes it possible to carry out a cosmetic "lipofilling"
