Lacy53 and I had a discussion regarding the Cure product, and we decided to put it to a test to see if:
1. The product created any "skin balls" when your finger was not used, and
2. If a film was left on your skin, possibly attributing to the smooth feeling or glow (instead of actual exfoliation).
Here are the results:
1. I took a pic of the clean mirror and 3 materials I used to test the "balling" effect (yellow rubber glove, hair color glove, ziploc baggie) None of them resulted in any of the white balls as experienced when using your fingers with the product.
Before pic showing clean mirror and 3 materials:
Pic after I rubbed each of the blobs with the designated material...the last 2 have some bubbles in them, which I attribute to squirting the 3 blobs out at the same time and they did not rub as smoothly. So you can see bubbles in each of the last 2 product blobs, but there were no "skin balls."
2. I rinsed the mirror well (but did not rub it), and you CAN see a film left. (pic below)
The same film was still there after the mirror drips dried, and was NOT able to be removed by rubbing the spots under running water...I actually had to use Windex to get it off.
Conclusion:
I think Cure really does exfoliate, because my skin felt pretty raw (and over exfoliated) for about 2 days after using it.
However, there is a definite film left on the skin which could contribute a bit to the perceived smoothness, or even the irritation I encountered.
Will I keep using it? YES, however I will be sure to cleanse with a soap product after using to assist in removing the odd film. |

Hotdocgirl, how do you use the Egyptian Magic? I bought it and tried it on my hands, but it is pretty greasy. Maybe I used too much? |
I'm a huge fan of EM - I use it under my eyes and around the orbital bone, on my lips and around my mouth, and on any irritated/dry skin. I also apply it throughout the day (on top of my make-up) if my skin feels dry. It's wonderful on plane trips.
You only need a bare amount though, I just very lightly run my finger over the EM and apply a tiny amount.
I looked up Bees Wax on the net and it's supposed to be a very beneficial ingredient for the skin. |

I forgot where I last posted, but I think the main problem with Cure is the *dry* rubbing and increased friction, so you don't realise you are rubbing too hard.
Perhaps try using more product? Then it won't totally dry up and would still have some "slip" to buffer the rubbing. |

You mean, wet the face first? Do you do it two times as well?
|
No, don't wet the face first. Use more product, so it doesn't dry up as quickly and stop before it dries up all the way. LOL. I can't explain it any better than that! No, I do not do it 2 times. Only once, and only once a week for me! |
Right, use more product so it stays wet longer. I use a good three pumps. |

Anyone who has both Cure & NCN Aqua Gel? If so, which one you prefer most? |
I started using Cure back in April and loved it. I recently have started using Nanci's Aqua gel and like it better. I was visiting both of my daughter-in-laws this weekend and let them try both Cure and Nanci's Aqua Gel. All of us prefer Nanci's Aqua Gel. Nanci's leaves my skin more moisturized and exfoliates just as well as Cure. |

Wow! this thread really grew. Cure is sooo gentle. I think as many have stated before, the key is to not over rub and let the exfoliation be gentle the way it was intended. On my bottle, the english label says to rub for 30 seconds to 1 minutue. and I usually just stop before the Cure is dry. I use it 3 times a week and haven't had any issues in almost 1 year of use. I absolutely love this product.
If you go to 4:43 of this youtube video, this girl bubz gives a good demo of how gentle the rubbing should be when using Cure!
