Hi All. I've been doing a bit of research into physical sunscreens available in the UK. There are more than there used to be so I thought I'd pass it on.

I found several but here are 3 at different prices.

'Medik8 Physical Sunscreen SPF30', £29.95/90ml. It's free from chemicals and claims not to leave a white tint. You can buy it on Amazon or go to their website.

Skin Ceuticals Sheer Physical UV Defence SP 50, £18.50/50ml

Avene Very High Protection Mineral Cream SPF50+, £12.07/50ml.

They all say free from chemicals, and are available on Amazon Marketplace.

I saw a review that says the Avene is quite white, but might depend on your skin.

I believe Ultrasun also make a physical sunscreen but I can't find one available.

now that I have been using Topix Replenix Sheer Physical Sunscreen Cream SPF 50 for few weeks now, I give it 2 thumbs up! It's completely, 100% invisible and no greasy feel at all.... anyone running outta their current sunblocks ( unless u love yours) should try this...

btw, I am not getting paid by Replenix but they deserve to be recommended for coming up with such a nice product, at least for me it's the best sunblock ever...

Hi Daler, thank you. You are right. This stuff is great. If I have no "tanning through" issues this will be the holy grail sunscreen I have been looking for for years.

It goes on a little greasy but dries to a matte finish in a couple of minutes. There is no white cast. My hair doesn't stick to my face or neck at all when I move. I love this stuff and it's a very rare day when I rave about a product.

Thanks again for recommending this. Have you spent any long periods in the sun since using this, and if you have how did it do for sun protection?

daler and CookieD, did you have a change to compare Topix Replenix Sheer Physical Sunscreen Cream SPF 50 to Skinceuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense? I am quite impressed with the Skinceuticals formula (better than the Suntegrity line IMHO).

Hi RS- I haven't used the skinceuticals sunscreen. I did use Suntegrity. I did like it but it left my skin a little shiny and greasy.

I have been using Elta MD physical. I like it but I like the Topix better.

Here are some of the sunscreen I have used.

Badger-gross

Blue lizard- no

Clarins - like it but only TO

Devita- tanned like I wasn't wearing anything

ZO- liked but too expensive. if you don't like silicone feel, you won't like this

Nia 24-ok but also silicone feel

MV- didn't like smell and to dry of a feel on skin

Vanicream- Heavy, gross

Burnout- all 3 kinds. Too heavy

Jan Marini- not bad

PCA- liked but not all physical

Green goddess- use on body. didn't like on face

Green screen - heavy

Burt's bee- no

I am sure there are a ton more but that's enough for now.
