{ Moderator: Hi All, Just a note that this thread has been split into its own topic from the Pico Toner Reviews thread }
------
I said on a different thread that I had created a "Makeshift Pico Toner" by getting an EMS/Tens combination machine (using only the EMS portion) and silver electrode gloves. For those of you who would like a Pico Toner but can't afford the $600 price tag, you can do the same thing for less than $75. Here is a really nice EMS/TENS combo unit that already comes with the snap connectors; no need to purchase the adapter, like I had to:
You can get that here for $42.99:

You can get the silver electrode gloves from Amazon for $32:
You can get those here:

I put together my "Makeshift Pico Toner" before I had actually ever even heard of a Pico Toner because I read in one of Dr. Perricone's books about EMS for facial rejuvenation. |

Anyone who gets the cheapie Chinese microcurrent will be disappointed. I have the bio wave from Ebay and it isn't even in the same ballpark. The gloves are not the same as the Pico gloves either.
You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. |

Just chiming in to share something from a medical stanpoint in case it helps anyone.
I own a $5000. Medical grade TEN/EMS unit, complete with all the bells and whistles, and there is no way it will come anywhere near my face. |

Since Sis reminded us up above that we need to stay on topic within threads, I am going to please ask that any future replies regarding cancer go on the "Cancer Prevention" thread. I think one thread on that topic is probably enough since it has been so heated.

With relation to the faradic current, it appears the Neutrosis machines also have it:
Quote: |
The SX-3500 is preprogrammed with 6 presets for true facial sculpting (oxygenation, refine NANO (deep fine line removal), refine PICO (superficial fine line removal), toning, face lifting (sculpting), Iontophoresis (product penetration) and detoxification. Each preset is comprised of 100“s of frequencies to make a specific signature for each program. The SX-3500 uses Galvanic, Faradic, Biphasic, Sine waves, Square waves, DC Positive, and DC negative potentials for achieving unique, specific sculpting benefits for each program.

My old "professional" machine also had a faradic mode and the leads had heads which looked like the Tua Viso with positive and negative probes - these are used to contract the muscle.
This site clearly states that faradic current is EMS and that it can be used on the face:
