Hi all! Just wanted to update. I have been using this mask for a few years now and highly recommend. My skin feels thicker, firmer and I know part of it is due to this mask. I do not see issues with any exacerbation of melasma.
Since I first posted, a lot of companies have released LED masks but I would personally stick with omnilux as they are the ones that make the machines for the dermatologist offices, etc. I do feel older, like mother gothel from tangled if I skip the mask for a few days. I wish the mask did not have eye openings and extended around under the jaw area. As I now just turned 44, my area of concern is my jowls and the thinning area around the eyes. I might try the Dr. Rajani mask as it extends around under the jaw if this mask dies on me.
I know people sit upright and do tasks when wearing the mask, but I would not recommend it. I think overtime, you are pulling your facial skin down and exacebrating sagging. Same concept when we pull around our eyelids to apply eyeliner. I don't totally use the mask as recommended because I use it on uncleansed skin, but in the morning right before waking up. I apply the mask and then lie down and take an extra nap in the AM. I do not wash my face in the AM and find benefit still. I only wash my face once a day, at night during my shower and have been doing so since age 19. This works for me.
I also own the mito panel but do not use that as often, I feel like that is much stronger and developed more to focus on muscle/bone healing.
I joined this forum in my mid 20s, and am not 44. Like many of us, I have tried many products. As I get older, I feel that the best things for my skin are retin-a combined with a lightener, a good gentle chemical exfoliator, microneedling, cerave ointment for around the eyes, red light and amazing sunscreen. everything else is just extra in my book.
This mask is a staple for me now. Also, ominlux is a good company. my first mask died within the 2 years and they replaced it for me quickly.
Also, if you have issues with melasma, I would avoid the blue light mask they have now for those with acne. |
