Just thought I'd let everone know my second night on level 2 went much better...incase I scared anyone off with my previous post. Also no blotchiness this morning...skin feeling smooth.
Toby~ That's great those lines are vanishing, hope you have 100% success!
shamus~ Your suggestion for doing the upper lip area made a big difference...thanks again.
Skincareaddict22~ After treatment at night I spritz on Avene spring water and then a liberal am't of the finishing serum. I let that work at soothing my skin and then pat on Emu oil. In the a.m I use AnteAGE serum and Devita sunscreen or SkinBiology DayCover. For now I'm not using my AnteAGE moisturizer since it has retinol or a C serum. |

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the ingrediants are in the finishing serum for the Tria. More specifically does it have anything like silicones etc in as I find my skin really doesn't like that sort of thing. If I did decide to go ahead with the Tria purchase would anything else be suitable for after care? I have a nearly full bottle of Neals Yard Wild Rose Elixir which looks like it might be suitable (although it does have some vitamin c in it).
Also when you buy the Tria does it come with the cleanser and aftercare included or do you need to buy that seperately? |

Pandora77, the Tria laser comes with a 1.7 oz. cleanser and 0.5 oz. finishing serum. It does have silicones but works really well to bring down redness & inflammation. You can check out ingredients here:
http://www.triabeauty.ca/rejuvenating-facial-serum
Aloe Vera gel and Avene Recovery care might be an alternative. |

Thank you brierrose, if I get the Tria I will try the serum but silicones always clog up my skin and give me those under the skin bumps however perhaps the action of the laser will work to negate this.
I did wonder if Bepanthen might be an option (nappy cream) I have used that to great effect for soothing my skin in the past when I have over done the retin a.
Thanks again! |

shamus: In response to your earlier reply...you can never post "too much" when it comes to skin care! Thanks sooo much for your posts, appreciated more than you know!
brierrose: thanks for the Avene tip...oddly enough I just picked some up a few weeks ago as it was on sale...I must have known deep inside that I might need it Will try that tonight.
My update on Tria...I'll be using it for the 8th time tonight. Stayed on level 2 after the first few nights. I am adjusting to level 2. The burning subsides after about an hour. The redness is completely gone by morning. Not sure I'm ready for level 3 any time soon but we'll see.
Is anyone else noticing that their skin feels dry. It isn't dry nor does it look dry, it just feels dry to the touch. It could just be that my skin is becoming more even?? Not a bad feeling...just feels different. I hope that means it's working! |

Please let us know how the Avene cream works for you. I'd like to find something really soothing in order to cut back on the amount of finishing serum I'm going through. Most of what I have on hand other than Emu oil is too 'active' for after treatment.
In regards to dryness I'm only dry right after treatment and then I'm back to normal. I'm the same as you, burning subsides in about an hour and redness gone by morning. |

Hi, I am nearly 2 weeks into my treatments.
I started on low for 1 week, now on the medium level. I am only red for about an hour if even after the treatment.
I am going to slowly work myself up to high level. ( In a week or so). |

I must ask all you Tria users out there how you find the pain level? I have been waiting for someone to post a video on youtube of a real treatment but all they have is the Tria marketing video where it looks like the model is running it over her face while she has full make up on!
I am torn on this, no pain would seem like it was safer but then no pain might also mean it was in effective, perhaps any treatment that offers real results will always have risks? |

Pandora I got the Tria 4 days ago and used it at level 1 for the first 2 days. Level 1 isn't painful at all, just a slight stinging sensation, but not unbearable. I went up to level 2 last night and for now I'll be staying at level 2, because for me, it was barely tolerable. I know I'll get used to it in time, but it takes your breath away, especially on the lip lines
I found the cycle of level 1 to be too brief, on level 2 it lasts longer and I feel I'm getting more benefit from it. As Keilu said "No pain, no gain" |

pandora77: It hurts ... a lot! For me level two is the most I can tolerate. I called Tria today and just wanted to confirm that even if I stay at level two I will still see results. The rep confirmed that yes, it will work it will just take a little longer. For me, the treatment itself is tolerable on level 2 but the burning for the hour afterwards is awful. She says this is exactly what we're supposed to feel. I've learned to make myself distracted in the hour following treatment. Answer some emails...post on here ...watch a funny show. If I don't think about it I can get through it but if you focused on the burning sensation, it wouldn't be much fun. I may try level 3 in a week or so and see how it goes.
Also, the rep told me that the dryness is normal too. She suggested I use an exfoliator morning and night to help with that. |

In regards to the dryness...sometimes my skin is so dry, it feels like fine sandpaper...doesn't look it, but feels like it. I wash my face in the morning with a facecloth to exfoliate. But after exactly 2 weeks. now the dryness is slowly subsiding. I really recommend those cold packs that you keep in the frig...they're like first aide packs you keep in the frig. If I bump up my tria to level 3, I just lie down with them on my face...very soothing and it takes the pain down. I also found that if I move the tria slower, it doesn't hurt as much. blessings all |

Oh dear I know that some are experiencing red and tender skin with laser treatments and the thought of exfoliating doesn't like fun. I have found that Nanci's Aqua gel does well for me because it is so gentle....way better than the Cure brand. |

Update: After 10 days of use (8 of them on level 2) I think I'm just getting out of the sandpaper phase. Noticing some small differences already. Pores are definitely smaller. I see some smoothness around my cheekbone area. And most exciting, the pain after treatment is much less. I'm sure I'm just getting used to it but the soreness lasts for only an hour and is not as intense. My plan is to go to level 3 early next week. |

I didn't realize I was so far along in my treatments....starting my 8th week. All of the sudden last week my skin didn't seem to turn red as easily and almost no burning afterwards, my skin must have adjusted as they said it would. Brown spots are a faint memory, fine lines way more softened and less visible. Will do the rest period for four weeks and then go for round 2. I have noticed that the laser works very quickly on my hands...didn't expect that. Really glad I took the plunge! |

This is SO good to hear. Mine is on the way to Australia!! If this works for my brown spots it will be the first thing that has! Very excited.

I've been using my Tria on level 3 for three and a half weeks and a few days ago I noticed that my skin no longer burned during or after my treatments and that it didn't even turn pink. I thought that my skin had gotten used to the treatments or that something was wrong with my Tria. Tonight before my treatment I gently cleaned the laser window with a dry cotton swab and WOW! It felt just like my first treatment. So lesson learned - clean the laser window occasionally to make sure I'm getting the full benefit of the device. I'm also loving my Tria and am already seeing some improvements in fine lines and my face looks a little fuller. |

Anya & Skincareaddict, thanks for your advice about the pain levels. It sounds like it is a serious machine still slightly on the fence about getting one but beginning to crumble day by day! Does it get really hot again worried about the damage heat could do to underlying structure of skin, I guess I could just take it really slow. Another question as anyone seen improvement on pores on there nose with this device or suffered acne breakouts? I am somewhat prone to acne but am normally kept in check with retin a but have stopped that for a few weeks in case I decide to take the plunge!
Thanks again to everyone for posting all your updates and experiances of this product! |

Toby - no problem, glad I could help .
pandora77 - I have found that the Tria has helped my acne and I do think that my pores look a little smaller. I spoke to Tria customer service and they told me that I could continue to use my retin-a. I have had no issues using both at the same time but YMMV. |

I second Toby's comment....this forum rocks! Well, I did a treatment on level 2 and had no redness either....then I cleaned the little window and I'm back to "Yowsa!". Which is good as I've been doing level 3 for a couple of nights and my face is fire engine red all day and looks swollen....so I'm going back to a cleaned level 2. Awesome tip, Doodles. Blessings |

Ohhh nooo!! Here I thought I was adjusting quite well on level 2 and ready for level 3. I think I'd better clean the window first and see how that goes tonight and remain on level 2.
So grateful for the info & updates from everyone! |

I don't know what I'd do without this forum!! I took the plunge to level three last night. Soooo not impressed! The burning went on for two hours and I did try the gel freezer packs...thank you for that tip Shamus. The freezer packs definitely helped, won't be without them now. I'm now nervous to try level three again tonight as I haven't cleaned my devise yet! I also thought I was just adjusting to level two but now that I've read these posts I think I'll clean it and go back to level two for a few more nights! As for changes...pores are remarkably smaller. Since I don't treat my nose (although I'm getting tempted) I can really see the change in pores. My face looks a little 'fuller' overall. I'm documenting it with pictures so I'll be able to comment on more as time goes on. I'm two weeks into this as of tomorrow. |
