the trick - i have found with self tanner - is you apply your body lotion first. It helps even out your skin surface and takes care of any dry parts. try it! I haven't found that it wears off quicker becuase of it
But i agree:
i flew to vegas and had the bottle in my overnight bag - they confiscated it (practically full!) and i seriously almost cried |

I bought this and unfortunately I don't think I'm crazy about it. Of course I'm super pale/white so it had its work cut out for it
The pros for me were:
-easy to put on/goes on evenly
-not streaky looking
-almost no scent
The negatives:
-didn't see a noticeable 'tan' until the 5th application but then it was still very light (maybe I wasn't using enough?)
-the color is kinda yellow on me. However it was not as bad as the Dove Energy Glow (looked like a golden nuget!) but not as good as the Jergens Natural Glow (although it's been awhile since I've tried that).
I'm just glad I didn't pay full price for this. However, I think I should give it a few more tries and see if it gets better with continued layers. |

I've only used mine once and I really liked the color and ease of application. What I didn't like is that it only lasted a week at the most. |

I loooove this stuff! I found easy extremely easy to apply and it dried super fast. Also, it faded gradually and I *almost* didn't notice that I needed to reapply until I was back to my normal skintone. One thing I dislike about it is that it dries so quickly that I don't have a chance to wash off my hands. nobody likes orange hands! |

How do you apply the self tan on your back without it coming out streaky?
I also have trouble with my hands - I apply to my body, then wash my hands - but when i then put a little on my hands/wrists there is overlap and it starts rubbing off and producing streaks.
I was using the St Tropez lotion for this. I liked the colour, a deep tan, although I would have preferred the colour to be slightly more golden. |

I can't wait to try these products in the summer. I always like to have some colour in the summer but I don't like tanning and I really don't like airbrush tanning! |

Does this one have the horrible self-tanner smell? That's one of the major things I hate about self tanning lotions. |

Seaera, I so know what you mean. Usually I try a self tanner once (then toss it into the trash) and spend the next 3 days trying to get rid of the awful odor by showering until my skin is nearly raw. I bought St. Tropez based on recs from this site as well as another site, and wow I still can't believe it. No smell, even when I put my nose directly on my arm. I left the mousse on for 8 hours before showering it off. Amazingly great product. |

The best way to apply bronzer is with those small, disposable painting gloves, no more orange hands! |

Yeah, I ended up doing that, but I found that the gloves crinkled a bit, and when that happens, the tanner doesn't go on evenly. It looked like I needed to iron out my skin |

Are painter's gloves different from the gloves doctors and dentists use? I buy disposable "surgical" gloves at the drug store
(you get 50 pairs or 25 pairs to a box). They come in sizes Small, Medium or Large, and are tight fitting. They are also great when you are preparing food...just toss when you're done. No wrinkles!!! |

I applied this using latex gloves, and i got a fine red rash where I applied it. It's almost as though the hair roots have come up i red bumps.
There is no itching or discomfort, so could this be from the gloves, or is it more likely from the mousse? |
