The omegas help, something else that you can spray on is placental extract by Hansens. I have a friend with dry hair that swears by it! |

wow its only been a month and a half since I posted this - cnt remember exactly when I started taking supplements, but this is what I've been taking/doing:
1. Saw Palmetto on tablet a day
2. Biosil drops
3. Washing hair every other day
4. Only using SLS free shampoo (have been doing this anyway), and no conditioner, or very light coconut and almond oil spray in.
5. Taking evening primrose and omega3 capsules daily
I havent noticed a really massive change, but definitely my hair looks a little fuller. It could be cosmetic, from using no/different conditioner, or perhaps new hair/thicker hair is starting to grow in thanks to the SP or Biosil??
Anyway, I'm very happy with progress so far, hope to see more definite results - thanks all for the recommendations, they are having the desired effect! Now I just need to find a volumising mousse to give that extra oomph |

I took MSM for something else and found that my hair grew like crazy. It grew very fast and came in thicker. |

I'm another fan of MSM and Biosil. Great for nails as well as hair, skin, joints. |

I spelled if wrong. I take phyto phananere. They are pills from that company. They mainly contain wheat germ oil, flaxseed oil...all those good fatty acids. but IT WORKS. i have noticed longer hair...everywhere. 50 bucks for 2 months and you are supposed to do 4 months...id say its worth it. |

Another update - been taking biosil, and evening primrose pretty consistently, along with washing hair every other day (instead of every day) with SLS-free shampoo and have noticed very good results. My hair has thickened up a lot, to the extent that it looks almost the same as my pre hair loss hair..I am so glad I looked into this stuff before my hair loss got worse!
Am also trying the following since a couple of weeks ago:
1. Added around 10-20 drops of rosemary essential oil to my shampoo
2. Add Silk amino acid powder to my shampoo which makes my hair feel really silky and smooth
3. Am putting castor oil on my scalp with a cotton bud (on the roots where I lost most hair) for a few hours before washing
4. Pre-shampoo coconut oil treatment |
_________________ 32, still using: OCM, vitc C, epidermx, ageless (for my lips), now added clarisonic, silk pillow and Aldi skincare! Skin is better than ever 31, medium olive skin, combination-oily. Staples: epidermx II, OCM, retin-a, vit c powder, facial exercises (ageless). |

Glad to hear your hair is growing back! I do have a question, where do you get Silk amino acid powder?

im in the uk, so i get it from ofasimplenature.co.uk. Its very cheap, and u can add it to your shampoo, mascara for longer lashes and body lotions. I highly recommend this in shampoo and mascara! Also another thing i think i will try is adding a few drops of argan or olive oil to my cinditioner, which i use once a fortnight or so, since i dnt need it so much anymore... |

I know a lot of you take supplements, and have seen some good results with hair growth/condition..
Can you all share what supplements you've taken that worked? My hair is seriously thinning and its driving me crazy, and I think a supplement is the way to go, just not sure which one to go with, so would appreciate your experiences! |
Hi Mowgli,
Presently I am using System Professional Energy Serum Intensive along my hairline as I lost some hair here following IPL. This serum is recommended for hair thinning as it opens the follicle, supplying O2 an encouraging growth. So far, 3 weeks, so good. I will keep you informed. |

Where can I buy Biosil? I would like to try this to thicken my hair a bit. Anyone?

Antonia - apparrently Biosil can prevent the 'miniaturisation' of hair, and lead to thicker hair shafts..
This would be good for me too, as I've always had fine hair.
As for androgenetic hair loss - is this possibly related to inherited patterns of hair loss? I am losing hair mainly at the front of my scalp, and I've noticed the same in my mum and aunts too..
In which case, taking Biosil and saw palmetto seems to be the way to go!
MSM sounds good too, but I'm afraid of possible side effects i.e. hair loss, which is the last thing I want! |

Try the olive oil: after washing your hair, drop one or two drops olive oil into your hand, and apply it on your hair, especially the end of your hair. This method may help you. |

Eat some walnuts and black sesame, which is good to hair.
Use jojoba oil or Olive oil as nutrition oil to the hair - wash after 10 minutes on the hair.
Also, could consider to use some amino acid shampoo - also good to the hair. |
