Annie, I started with a level teaspoon in my protein shake. The next day, I used one and a half teaspoons, then two teaspoons the day after that. From there, I went to one tablespoon, then one and a half, then two tablespoons. Never had a problem! |

Finally got it in & I can tell the differance in the food grade and the stuff we used for garden, very reassuring! This is a VERY, very fine powder, ground finer than powdered sugar.
I added a tsp. to my Garden of Life Raw Organic powder shake and drank it right down, not even a hint of it left. Then made one for the hubby! He shook his head at me and then drank it. Bless his heart, he has such complete and utter faith in me and my trial bouts of health supplements/beuaty aids (although he will not try the dermaroller). Love that man! |

Trying a little less than a teaspoon today. Tried the same amount on Friday but we ended up a little bloated so took the weekend off and are starting over. The bloating is the hardest part for me, ugh! Doesn't taste bad (don't even know it is there)since it is in the shake. As the hubby said, its not like that darn shake isn't nasty enough! |

Anyone in the UK got a reliable source they’re ordering DE from? There are a few online I found but I’m not sure how trustworthy they are so if there are any UK sources anyone has used and got good reviews of can you please share! |

No, I didn't. I hope taking small amounts and working up slowly works for you! |

Yes, ours was even less than the teaspoon but I do bloat very easily. I think I am going to wait to start again next Monday after we get back from the hubby. He wants to keep his belly bikini ready!
Its a hard stage to get past and frustrating! |

Have been on one-two teaspoons now for a couple of weeks and got used to it so I am moving up to a whole tablespoon. Baby steps! |

Not bad now, it was the first couple of days though, prob cause we mixed it with the raw organic smoothie, which gives a bit of bloat already.
I don't even notice it now. |

I hope you will report those results Annie after your next test! I know a number of people who would benefit if it does the trick!
TIA |

Yes, if it wasn't for this forum I would be missing most every part of my beauty routine and gadgets.
I add the little bit in to the shakes and it works so well.
I usually take the weekends off from it but I have adjusted pretty quickly now.
We had just tried to start it a day before leaving for the beach (when your whole food intake/routine) is off anyway, so that was not a good time to try it.
I have high hopes for it and am glad I read about it. Thanks for passing it on! |

Secretly, I am glad you are back. I wanted to thank you for this thread. It came up when I was researching natural ways to improve my cholesterol. Your posts weighed into my decision to try Food Grade Diatomaeceous Earth...and it has been a phenomenal help. THANK YOU. I am heart healthy because of you! |

I'm SO glad to find this forum! I took DE for about a week and got all clogged up...constipation and bloating (always a battle for me). I stopped and it took about another week to get back to normal. I now realize I started out by taking too much. I was reading about other people taking 2 TBS twice a day an didn't realize that they were long term users. I'm going to try again but start out MUCH slower. Probably 1 teas a day to begin with. I already drink a lot of water, workout, eat health, blah, blah, blah but I think increasing my fluid intake for a while is probably a good idea.
Thanks for all the GREAT information! |

I've heard of people taking D.earth.
Don't know if I'd take it myself, though.... |

Yes, teeny tiny is the only amount I can do and not every day. It was just a bit too much on the bloating.
Problem is I don't drink enough water. Once I get that tolerance built backup, I can start it again. When I drink too much water, it causes severe acid reflux so its a vicious cycle.
I take a fiber capsule instead and that does help the doc said to naturally lower it too.
I am on a cholesterol medicine right now that I am able to tolerate but I am about to go in a month or so to have my blood work so we will see! |
