We drink mainly green tea in my house. On occasion we will have black tea iced. I've been trying to lose these 70 pounds since stating Paxil 10 years ago after my firefighter husband died in the line of duty and recently tried to go off of it, but I become extremely temperamental and almost OCD (I have a son with severe OCD who also takes Paxil).
Dieting really makes getting all the essential nutrients really tough!
I'm staying on the fish oil because I have found that it helps to fix the leptin levels that Paxil messes with. Ever since starting the oil I can actually feel when I am getting full and can stop eating, whereas before, I never could tell. I've lost 10 pounds in the last month simply from using Omega 3. My son has gained a little weight from Paxil and uses fish oil as well and he feels the same way I do. He also uses Raspberry Ketones and says that helps a lot too. |

Try the refined coconut oil, has no flavor and is cheaper. Is good in coffee. |

Bullet, I am so sorry for your loss. I understand depression. Especially due to grief. If it matters, I found white tea really effective for weight loss. And calcium, a higher protein diet, and eating every 4 hours. Soy nuts and meat really helped me also. As well as not eating carbs alone (always with fat and/or protein.) Keeping my blood sugar steady is key for me. |

I try to follow an Eastern diet high in fish, soy, vegetables, fruits, and grains (not white rice though), but it's just so hard to get the RDA when you eat less than 1500 calories per day.
Thankfully my children also prefer Asian food to western (though we do eat Mediterranean sometimes)and I buy very very little junk food (they are allowed 1 junk food per week).
As for dairy, it's tolerable and I guess I could add more greek yogurt to my diet. |
Why are you eating less that 1500 calories, are you very short in height or are you not doing enough physical activity? In general cutting too many calories risks lowering the metabolism. Have you considered/ tried switching to another anti-depressant instead of trying to withdraw entirely? You may find the fish oil helps with your mood/ OCD-like symptoms, there is positive research for both.
Which grains are you selecting, are you opting for the lower glycaemic index ones - barley, brown basmati rice? Are you eating whole beans or lentils daily, not just processed soy? Pulses count towards your nine a day, as well as being low in fat, low glycaemic index and a good source of minerals. |

Firefox soy is good, you don't need to call it "processed" like that.
Regarding beans and lentils, I agree but I just want to say that I personally do better with beans vs. lentils regarding blood sugar. |

IMO, the best way to know what to cut is to both figure out what you are already getting enough of in your diet and to get a blood test. Then you will know what you really need. Best wishes. |
