Good reformulation news! It looks like Devita is pretty much back to "normal"!! By the end of last season, the formulation had definitely improved, but now that sunscreen season is in full-force here, I need to replenish my supply. The Devita box I purchased from Lucky Vitamin (I use solar body for face and body) said it had been reformulated. And it was--hallelujah! It's not *quite* as perfect as three years ago, but it is so much better even than the end of last summer: no white eyebrows, no missed streaks, etc. Particularly if I'm patient and wait until my skin is completely dry after washing my face, it's fantastic. Hubby is happy, too, and rarely needs to rub in the spots I missed as I run out the door.
I know Devita isn't for everyone, but it's been my HG for the imperfect world of sunscreens. We still use something different if we're going to the beach (which is rare) or are going to be active and sweaty. But for me, I find it's great for daily all-over use and now nice enough again to use for work. If I'm going to be out longer, I just reapply after a couple hours, mostly when I'm out gardening (with floppy hat, of course). Happy staying pale, ladies! |

I bought three tubes of Devita last year, two from Whole Foods and one directly from Devita. All were streaky and dried white and chalky. I wrote Devita an email and they checked the batch codes and said mine were fine. They were the worst sunscreen ever. After half a dozen emails, they finally agreed to replace a tube but I still had to pay for shipping. So I have given up on Devita due to their poor customer service and even worse products. Four tubes went to Goodwill donations. |
