Bushy, after seeing your post I had to run and try my IS Clinical cleansing sample this morning. - and I went over and did a sample review on the Review Board.
Re the Active: I used it for 3 nights running (not last night though as did the Roc enzyme peel) and I have found that I have been having little blemishes come up all over the place. Nothing sinister but little ones on my chin, crook of my nose, etc. Hopefully that wont last long! |

As I have oily skin, I think this cleanser will suit me very well. It does say not to use in the eye area which is a bit of a bother as I like to be able to use my cleanser all around my eyes. I did have a tiny bit of irritation on my eyelids as I did use it around my eyes but I can't blame this product yet as I think the irritation was there before. At this stage I will keep using it because I am in the unbelievable position of only having one cleanser at the moment. What I liked most about the Juvena cleanser and I am sure Cellcosmet will be the same, is the gentleness, no hint of irritation but still cleans very well and is good on oily skin.
I can't comment on the Active yet although I think my skin looked a bit pink this morning. I will use up the sample and advise. I can't image it would have caused your blemishes unless there is an ingredient that your skin does not like. |

I have been using the IS Clinicals cleansing Complex for about 4 weeks now and really, really like it. I use it am and pm.
The FUNNY PART IS - I stopped using the Active and Super about 4 weeks ago as my skin was very dry and creppy looking and started using the TNS. But from last week I started re-using the Super and Active (just wanted to use it up) and my skin is loving it - THE SKIN LOOKS CLEARER, how shall I describe it - my skin is not that dry anymore (wish my English was better) I wonder whether the TNS has got something to do with it. I started using the TNS recovery Complex just about the time I stopped using the Active and Super. What ever it is the combination is good for my skin - I am a very, very HAPPY GIRL! |

I just started using a new bottle of Proheal which I have just received and I would have to say that it really seems to me that the ingredients have changed. The colour, texture and effect of actives have all changed. In fact it is almost like using a different product. This new one is green (all previous were clear with just a very faint green tint), texture is watery (all previous were thick), does not seem oily at all (all previous were thick and oily), on application it absorbs immediately, no oiliness at all and stings for a minute or so or maybe the application of my Kosmea sunscreen put the fire out (on application of all previous bottles a very mild tingle which rapidly disappeared and took a couple of minutes to sink in and lose oiliness). My previous bottles were all purchased throughout last year and lasted quite a while so I had no need to repurchase until just recently. Very odd. |

It seems odd but it isn't, according to ISC. Several months ago, I received some re-order complexes that were TOTALLY different in texture. Since they are moisturizers, I didn't notice any other difference. Same was true of my newer bottle of Super Serum, much more oily feeling than the first bottle.
Skinterra and ISC both replied to my questions about formula change and I wish I had kept it. It essentially said, the formulas are the same, the raw product that they purchase differs season by season or something like that.

Same for me on the proheal difference. I called IS and got the same reply. But I KNOW it is not even close to the same for me because it is drier and not the same feel, application, or results AT ALL!!! And I had used 2 bottles of proheal back to back and they were EXACLTY the same, along with one for my son. Oh well, the ingredients for the new one must have been in a whole year's different batch. But I can tell you, I am not a happy with this one. |

OK, it has now been just over a week on the Active serum and I am starting to love it. The few blemishes I had are gone (that could have been some purging due to new cleansers I guess)... It no longer feels too oily and I have been using Remergent Barrier Repair on top rather than Hydracool and it makes a WORLD of difference! my skin is glowing and clear and almost porcelain at time.. those pesky t-zone pores are still there but I cannot expect miracles so quick.
OH and I DO get that cooling feeling a bit if I use my Cellcosmet activator gel first. Especially so if I use the hydracool on top. very pleasant. |

Tim, what do you think of the hydracool - is it worth the money, or would you be just as happy with an ordinary moisturiser or HA serum do you think? |

Hi Fifi, you know, Hydracool is something I am so on the fence about. I had two sample bottles (OK, one was meant for mum but after trying it I knew she would not like it... )
The first bottle I used as a follow-up to the super serum. At first I was thinking "what on earth is this stuff supposed to do" and I dont think it did anything wonderful, but somehow it kind of grew on me. However, I particularly wanted to have the Remergent DNA Repair for use in the morning and so by the time I have that on top of Super Serum I have absolutely no need for the HydraCool.
Phew. Stage two. I saw on Skin Terra that Active Serum matched well with Hydracool, so I saved my second bottle, thinking that I would try that combo and then buy the full-size Hydracool when the sample ran out. However, I have only used the two together around 4 times so far and did not like the feel at all.
I changed to use the Remergent Barrier Repair sample on top of Active (which is supposed to be very good after AHA products) and I love the feel of those two together so much that I have no desire to go back to hydracool, BUT, if I had not discovered Barrier Repair I would probably stick it out with Hydracool as I dont think a normal kind of moisturizer would be that great over Active Serum.
Maybe some HA would be good though and I might get some of the PSF HA to go on top of the Barrier Repair at night and the DNA Repair in the morning. |

I tested the ph level of the activ serum the other night and if i remember correctly, i got about 4.5 which is a tiny bit high for exfoliation. I got the ph strips from a science teacher i know- i think they're pretty accurate |

That's interesting Productjunkie. What does it mean? That it's not so effective or that it's irritating or what? Do you know?
Maybe like the Pro-heal it's a little bit variable. |

productjunkie have you by any chance tested the ph level of any other IS Clinical products? I would be interested to know what you found if you did. I would think that the slightly high ph for the Active serum would mean that it is less effective at exfoliating and also less irritating. Please correct me if I am wrong here! |

Hi Rashirosey
Barrier Repair Formula is a new moisturizer from Remergent (maker AGI Dermatics, a microbiology company). I am cheating and copying the info from their website:
Technologically advanced moisturizer prompts the skin to strengthen its protective outer barrier, support its natural repair of collagen, and encourage its repopulation of ceramides.
Boosts hydration
Calms irritated and sensitive conditions
Reduces the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles
Contains Merospheres, Evodiox, Thiotaine, VitAine
Barrier Repair Formula is recommended for the treatment of dehydrated skin, to moisturize and strengthen the protective outer barrier from within, and to calm sensitive skin. For all skin types, even the most sensitive.
When I emailed their customer service people about if the line could be used with the IS CLinical products I had, she told me that AHAs can interrupt the barrier function of skin, so the barrier repair is useful to use after. I have to say, the effect for me has been VERY impressive just after a few days.
I did a review of their sample pack here:

From what I understand the optimum pH range is 3.0-3.5 for home use. Anything less than that would be too irritating and certainly not for daily use.
You can read the US FDA quide for labeling AHA products here:
http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/ahaguid2.html
productjunkie76: I hope others with pH strips will test theirs too. I know the ones I used to have tested differently depending on how old the strips were. A pH of 4.5 seems high for the active serum because it seems to exfoliate my skin slightly more than other AHA products I've used which had a pH of 3.5.
mabsy: Just thought you'd like to know that Cellularskinrx Age-Limit Advanced Refinishing Serum which you and I have both used is reported to have a pH of 3.5 according to their website. |

I was also thinking of getting some PSF HA serum to use over the active serum if necessary, although I use MD Forte lotion III and don't feel the need to moisturise afterwards unless it's the dead of winter and really cold. I'm just not sure about ordering Hydracool as I'm not so keen on menthol, and it seems a lot of $$$ to spend. Maybe I'll try to score some hydracool samples though, then I can compare the two options and see what I need to get for my next order after this one.... |
