Wow, thank you for posting that! I missed that page. Very interesting, and it explains why I got a defective unit.

I'm really glad I went with my instincts and didn't order a replacement from the Amazon seller. The only reason I ordered from them in the first place was to have it arrive sooner. The one I ordered from NuFACE (Carol Cole Company) will be here Tuesday, and will be worth the wait!

I hope everyone considering purchasing a NuFACE sees your post, LauraLizzie - that's good information to have. Thanks again.

Now you mention that ... When flying I've been packing my NuFace (old model) in check-in luggage, rather than carry-on, as I fear with all the checks/scans these days some over-zealous security officer is going to remove it from my hand-carry, hold it up in front of a large queue, and I'll have to explain in detail, with the captive audience listening, that it's not a sex toy, or weapon of mass destruction, but merely a micro-current facial device to stop my old face from sagging. It may be less embarrassing to claim it was a sex toy Embarassed

I kind of expected my question would be in the "too difficult" category.

If aloe vera or other gels are equally effective, I understand that they wouldn't want to officially confirm that as they then would lose income from sales of the Nuface gel. On the other hand, if they confirm other gels aren't effective, then they lose on sales of the Nuface gadget for those with sensitive skin that can't tolerate the Nuface gel.

Anyways, I think I'll stick with the aloe vera. Not that I have sensitive skin, but I just don't like the tacky feel of the Nuface gel and can't remove it without using a wash cloth.

So has anyone got a Trinity now and can compare to the old Nuface?

I don't know if you ever received a response about this, but I was reading up on reviews on Amazon and came across one where the person talked about how they got all itchy with the gels by NuFace. She contacted NuFace and they actually suggested aloe as an alternative.

Im curious as to the effectiveness of aloe VS the recommended gel. I don't want to compromise there. For anyone who isn't aware the "new" gel formula (natural formula gel on EDS) is a better alternative than the old original one. (not as gooey or sticky). EDS doesn't seem to carry the original formula anymore. http://www.essentialdayspa.com/nuface-gel-primer-step-1-p_14491.htm

Read this thread - there are some posts by Girltwocb who is an aesthetician. I asked her whether it was ok to use Aloe Vera Gel and she said it was perfectly acceptable. I like to use it because you don't have to wash it off and I also figure that its good for the skin.

I love mine. I used it every day for about 45 days. Then I got lazy. but when I use it a few times a week, people at work ask if I have lost weight and that I look so happy. I think I have had it since Feb of this year. I have the older model and it uses 9V batteries and I have gone through 4-5 already!

Don't forget you can use any water based serum under the gel and the nuFace will drive that serum deeper into the skin! No need to put on more after you clean off the gel.

I'm thoroughly enjoying mine. I like that the basic treatment only takes about 5 minutes, which makes it easy to do every day.

I use aloe vera gel (Lily of the Desert brand) and find it works very well. I actually prefer it to the gel that came with the Trinity.

I really feel it's helping to tighten my skin and smooth out some fine lines and "crinkles" that appear on my upper cheeks/eye area when I smile.

I'm also doing the Ageless program regularly, along with a lot of tugging/pinching/pulling massage, and have just started doing facial Gua Sha, so it's hard to attribute noticeable improvements to any one specific thing.

Bottom line though, I'm really happy with the NuFace Trinity, and find it super easy and enjoyable to use.

By the way, in Dr. Nicholas Perricone's latest book, Forever Young, he has a 9-page section titled "The Magic of Microcurrent" in which he enthusiastically praises its many benefits. He starts out saying "I am a huge fan of microcurrent treatments, which should be used regularly as a component of a healthful beauty regimen". He goes on to say "Once available only in spas, this treatment can be done at home. There is no difference between the power used in a home care system and that used in a professional macine. Microcurrent utilizes a sub-sensory electric current to reeducate the facial muscles while improving both the tone and the texture of the skin".

His strong endorsement of microcurrent treatments was a big influence in my decision to purchase the NuFace Trinity.

I like the Nuface, but stopped using it, as I broke my jaw a few years back and it didn't heal perfectly, and using Nuface seemed, or so I thought, to be making that area feel tighter, which I don't want. I might give it another try soon as I did like the way it seemed to make my face look a bit fresher/brighter, especially after only getting a few hours sleep. (I've got the old style Nuface, not Trinity)

Here is a testimony to the Nuface(old model). I was on vacation and went to the mall to the Bare Essentials store. The lady that was helping me was very attractive and had no sag at all, my guess she was in her 50's maybe late 50's. As we had conversation she mentioned she was 74! I was in total shock, I said have you had a face lift, fillers, botox???? She said absolutely not...I stay out of the sun and use a nuface daily. She said my nuface is the reason I can hide my age. I should have asked her more questions like how long have you used it...etc but I was in such shock I couldn't think of what all to ask. I honestly wanted to take her picture to share with my friends but I thought if I ask her she would think I was some kind of nut and her photo could end up all over the internet.

Ha, Toby, that's brilliant, I wish I'd been with you! Thanks for sharing that, it has inspired me to choose that as my birthday present!
Thanks to Laura and appletini and Sovajo too, I'm really pleased it such an effective tool we can use and see benefits from...aging is a bit of a drag, really, isn't it, so toys that help are something I'm grateful for.
I the story of the 74 year old lady looking about 15 or so years younger, that's amazing. She must have had great posture and attitude as well. Pilates and laughter and nuface ... Razz

Before you make up your mind on a microcurrent wait till Nanci comes out with her machine...I think it is going to offer more coverage to the entire face.

I have the trinity and the older model with the battery. I actually prefer the battery operated model so much more. I am having problems with the charging cradle with the trinity. I find it extremely fragile and difficult to get it to charge properly. If you travel at all the battery one is better also. My battery operated model is a refurbished model. I haven't had any problems with the refurbished model at all. I believe it was 175 and the trinity was 325 I think. The trinity is supposed to come out with heads that interchange. It is just too frustrating to me to even want to try them. I called the company the other day and they did give me a good suggestion. She told me to alternate the power for muscle confusion. That would be something you would do if you have already been doing it for awhile. Toby, I love your encouraging story about the salesclerk! I am excited about Nanci's new product also. I just wish it would hurry and come out already!

Carol I am glad you brought up the problems with the Trinity because I tried it out when there was a special on QVC. I loved it for weeks and then it stopped working....tried charging it and it wouldn't. It has lots of bells and whistles on it and lots can go wrong.I sent it back and have been very happy with the old model. I did call the company the other day and asked about the new attachments for the trinity....they are hoping to launch the red led light in Oct. and later an attachment for a wand type approach. I am not interested....too much to break and not work correctly.

Toby, I'm sorry to hear you had problems with your Trinity and had to send it back.

With all due respect, I wouldn't say the Trinity has a lot of bells and whistles; it just has the intensity button and the on/off button, which is surely no more than any similar device would have.

I've been using mine nearly every day for four months now, without any problems.

I do appreciate that it's rechargeable, since I had a Tua Viso some years ago that went through 9-volts like crazy. Haven't had any problems with the Trinity not charging. I leave it on the base all the time when not using it.

Here's hoping it doesn't stop working the day after the warranty expires!

Hmmm! Life is always a bit complicated, isn't it...Glad I didn't press "buy" without checking back to this thread. Wink

ALL feedback is good feedback, in terms of getting a more complete picture.

Toby I will keep my money in my purse, then, until nanci shows what she has. I trust Nanci and her ideas about what is worthwhile. As I do you.

So thank you.

I actually purchased my first nuface Trinity from QVC. Loved it and after 2 months it would not charge. I called Carol Cole company and they told me how to reset it. Well that did not work so I returned it to QVC. Then I purchased one directly from Carol Cole. The same thing happened. I am not rough on things so I think something is amiss. I read on the internet that others are having problems with the charger also. Now, I love the product so I ordered the refurbished model with the batteries. You have to love something to keep going thru all this and still want it! It is easier to travel with and I am having absolutely no problems with it. I called Carol Cole to see if I could exchange the non-working Trinity which was 325 for a refurbished battery one at 175. The customer service agent said I have never had anyone request that before. She is supposed to get back to me. I want to have two to make my treatment time shorter. Toby, I think I got that idea from you. Is it your AALS that you have two of? When I read your post awile back I thought that is a brillant idea. I work as a flight attendant and I don't care how little sleep I have I wake up early to do my treatment before my shift. I am using it on my neck also and I feel like it is really helping. be sure to watch some videos on YouTube and do their advanced techniques. I always do at least 20 minutes every am. Hope that helps. I really do like it.

Oh wow two Nufaces one in each hand...double attack Laughing I tell you that would be awesome for doing the body treatments....thighs especially. While I do have two lightstims that was not my original idea, it was Kassy's. Using the Lightstims two at a time got me into really making sure I did my treatments....1/2 the time made sense! Now when you have two Nufaces that will cut your treatment time down to 10 min? Wink

I just got an email from Shannon at Carol Cole. She told me that I should not use 2 at a time on my face. She said microcurrent travels and works with a positive and negative current so it would be counterproductive. I am a little bummed but glad to know. When I get up on the East Coast at 1am my time I would love to do 2 at a time. Oh well-at least it is a nice way to slowly wake up! I guess I could still use 2 at a time on my legs seperately.

It might be. This is all about positive and negative current - current going in, current going out. If you have two devices running, maybe the signals get all messed up and the process doesn't work properly. I'm just talking off the top of my head, but I can see the logic in not using two different devices concurrently.

Maybe it has something to do with the electrostatic force of attraction between the + and - ends.
Everybody knows two magnets will be attracted by their opposite pole and...
each will repel the like pole of the other magnet. Maybe this thingy occurs when you use two devices at the same time and then it gets all messed up somehow in your skin, like keliu said. But i'm not sure about this ofcourse.

I just bought myself a Nuface Trinity. I really hope I like it. My only problem is that I live in Australia. Have any Australians used it with a simple plug converter or do I need to use a voltage converter too? My plug adapter is for 100-240volts but I don't think it actually converts the voltage,??

Actually if anyone can tell me if the voltage on the trinity plug says 100-240v or just 110v? That would answer my question. Really would appreciate that TY Very Happy
