Welcome to the forum Jadmanx wave
The Pico Toner is a glove microcurrent unit. Many of us have been using the Tria laser and also the Pico Toner which will lift and rejuvenate the skin.

A huge thanks to everyone who has generously shared their experience with these new (for home) devices so far. It's so exciting! It's particularly wonderful to have some resident 'experts' on the forum. PQ, Toby, et al, you're experience with beauty devices is priceless. The help you give is better than anything out there. Thankyou, thankyou!

I've not posted in a good couple of years (travel, work, other distractions took over), and am thrilled that there's new goodies on offer.

My question is about the similarity between the way this kind fraxel type laser and dermarolling work in the skin (tiny injuries triggering the healing cascade). The obvious difference being the laser option uses heat to cause the small amounts of tissue damage.

I'm wondering if anyone that has compared results between the two? I just bought a new dermapen like device (My-M), in hopes of achieving similar things to what people hope to achieve with their Trias and Reauras. Of course, now that I read the Tria thread, I'm intrigued, except for the downtime. Knowing me I'll look rough for the whole two month treatment cycle due to my very sensitive reactive skin prone to swelling and redness at the hint of any trauma.

I wonder if there is some way of combining the two? A deep roll with the My-M followed by 4 weeks off, then two months of laser, a month off, deep roll, four weeks recovery rpt...

I believe both therapies are beneficial in their different ways, and it would be great to be able to capitalize on both systems, as well as change things up for the skin to not become resistant. Just some thoughts.

Hi Trigger - I do believe there are some members on the forum doing that type of protcol. I believe Keliu has the Derma Pen and also the Reaura laser. Don't see why you couldn't combine treatments...taking time off in between like you said. Of course, with more sensitive reactive skin, you should just make sure you are super hydrated from the inside out...that way you won't look overly dehydrated! But, if I were going to attempt that type of regimen, (I too have overly sensitive skin), I would avoid using any irritating skincare products like c serums or retinol based products. That's just my take...

I am wondering , has anyone has really bad drying and flaking when using the tria. I am in my 6th week of a second round of treatment and my skin has never been soo bad, it is dry flakey and in some places pigmented!

Foundation looks dreadful, BB cream seems to sit in the pores and when I smile ( with all this coverage) I notice hundreds of little lines all over my face!

The only thing that seems to look and feel ok is tons of emu oil.
The first time round with the tria I didnt really have much going on ok I was only on level 2, this time its been level 3 each day.

Is this because its actually wokring and I just need to bear with it and use lots of oils, or has my skin had enough?

I am reluctant to stop if this is it doing what it should, and I can deal with it ( no foundation, no concealer, just sunscreen and lots of oils/moisteriser)

Any ideas?

Are you using a mild exfoliator? I recommend Nanci's aqua gel. Cure is another one but Nanci's is way more gentle and has better ingredients.

Those flakes are the dead skin from the micro wounding being pushed up. What I do is to use a bic shaver (or any blade type shaver) and shave off the flakes, That way you can get it smooth enough for foundation if you want to wear it. Also, if you are applying makeup and one of those flakies surfaces, take it off with the blade, you don't need to wipe everything off and start again.

I find it helpful to put a warm wet facecloth on my face while bathing to soften any incipient flakes, then use a thin facecloth to gently rub off any dead skin before bed. Then you have all night to moisturise.

Hope this helps - do persevere, as it is so worth it.

thank you both, it is a relief, I have been using skinbios' lacsal, but not all the time and its got rid of some but I dont think its been either strong enuff, or Ive not been using it often enuff. I am going to have a go with the razor idea though!!
Good to know the tria is doing its job!
So onwards and upwards!!!

Sylvia - I was going to recommend The Cure or NCN's aqua gel also. That's the only thing that helps me when I have the dry, flaky stuff from using Level 3. I'm oily and it was a bizarre occurrence for me.

I can't help on this one, as I only use the lasers, I don't get on well with dermarollers, I didn't like the pain.

I will stick to lasers as they work for me.

I bought the Tria rejuvenating laser on the Shopping channel in Canada and have been using it for two weeks. It took a little getting used to, it stings and is not comfortable at all. I use it full force which is on the three lights. My skin has become rough not at all smooth as it was prior. Not sure if i want to spend two months of the summer with worse skin than i started with. I find it expensive but the shopping channel has given three months to try and you can return it!

Hi sylviehaddad and welcome! The first round of treatments is the worse as far as skin roughness and looking worse at times before it looks better. I just want to encourage you that it is so worth it!

You could try using a mild exfolient occasionally and back down to level 2 for the first go around and see if that helps.

A question: I am into a first 8 week round of Tria. I have missed a few sessions during my first 8 weeks - probably 6-7 days worth. I am thinking to add on to my 8 week time to make up what I missed. Any thoughts on this by other Tria users?
Hope I'm not the only one who misses nights!
Thanks. Sis

Sis, just add them onto the end of the treatment.

I am thinking of trying the Tria on my neck, has anyone tried this and what's the best way to go about it?

Hey Zelda. I've been using Tria on my neck for about 4 weeks or so. Sometimes it's hard to maintain contact but I can use level 3 with very little pain and redness. I stretch my chin up and I use my non-tria hand to pull the skin of my neck down, to try to maintain a smooth surface and therefore, better contact. So far, I haven't noticed any huge difference in the crepey skin but I shall persevere.

Has anyone used their Tria for product penetration, kind of like doing a penetration roll with a short needled dermaroller? I finished my 2nd round with my Tria a few months ago and thought I might give this a try, using it for maybe 2 or 3 minutes for my whole face, and then applying my actives. Any thoughts?

Supposedly the Tria is supposed to help with increased uptake of C serum. I think maybe applying it after you finish with the Tria might be the way to go instead of using it for penetration. Maybe someone else has an idea or used for penetration - creams, lotions, serums, etc.

For anyone who had brown spots/freckles or patches brought up by using the tria, what did you use to get rid of them once your course was finished?

My last course, has brought freckles and some sort of dirty brown patches up on one side of my face, I notice them, not quite sure if others would, but not sure where they've come from, Ive never been a sun lover before and am half asian so have pigmented skin anyway.

So what can I do now to get them gone, apart from concealer and foundation?
I would just like clear, even skin tone!

Too much to ask?

My speckly patches brought up by Tria, could always be exfoliated away..although I recall it sometimes took a few goes? I would often use my PMD for this after I had finished a round with the TRIA. But I think even doing nothing the spots will eventually shed. When did you finish your last round?

thanks for responding,
It must have been last friday. There dosent seem to be much change since then, Ive been using lacsal (skin bio) exfoliator, but maybe its just not strong enough.

We are going on holiday on sat for 2 weeks so I may just have to wait till we get home!

I could take the clarisonic with me and use that , what do you think?

Thanks anyway
