I have wondered about what is Milia myself. I read that is commonly known as white heads. Well, we all know what those are.
Then on another website with pictures, it said the little pinples are filled with liquid.
My whiteheads are tiny hard little white balls that I dig out with a needle. So, again, what are they? |

My understanding is that milia are small white bumps, often caused by using a moisturizer that is too rich. I have often seen people with them round their cheekbone area just below the eye area. Milia are hard - which can make them difficult to remove. Whiteheads are acne/pimples and contain sebum/dead cells/bacteria. These can usually be squeezed out...though i know you're not supposed to!!
Now I have googled milia cos I don't want to give you bad information...this website has some interesting pictures. Oh, and said they can be caused by sun exposure too...
