hi, is it possible that one can be allergic to vitamin c products. i used to have very clear skin but have been victim to a several bouts of breakouts recently, following my quest to lighten pimple scars using brightening.lightening, vit c serums/lotions/etc.
am trying to calm my skin down following my latest encounter, but can someone tell me how i can be sure it is vitamin c concentrate that is the culprit?
thanks? |

Hi jccl.
The best way to figure out what you're allergic to, whether it be a product or a food, is to eliminate everything questionable. Wait a week, then start adding things back into your routine, one at a time.
If you wait a week between each addition, you'll soon discover what's making you react.
(Remember, it could be more than one thing, and it could also be that you developed an allergy to something that never bothered you before.)

I had the same problem when I first tried vit C product. I am not too sure whether it was due to the vit C serum or the lotion that I used. Since the lotion (Hydra 5 B) is supposed to be rich, I attribute the problem to it. Therefore, the culprit may not be the vit C product u use, it could be the lotion. |

thanks for your help. i am staying away from the vit c stuff until my skin stabilises. decleor neroli oil and essential balm actually helped to calm my skin down. silly me has received decleor vit c concentrates and am so tempted to give it a try, to heal the scars from a recent breakout, especially since i love the whitening mask sooo much. |
