I have been ordering from The Body Perfumery for well over a year. www.thebodyperfumery.com
I never saw it mentioned here, so didn't think to post a review, but it occurred to me today that I need to share this great source for amazing perfumes, lotions, cremes, bath products, lip balms, etc. I can not say enough about the quality of the products, but I do love them.
The selection is excellent for different types of scented (or unscented) products. Packaging is classic and simple, yet gift worthy. I feel great about using these products on my skin, no fillers or tiny portions of the quality ingredients we want. Also, all ingredients are clearly listed. Customer service is excellent, or I would not have ordered so many times. If you want to order a gift for someone, and aren't sure about scent preferences, you can e-mail the owner, pay for the items you want to give, and she will notify the recipient that they may go to the site and choose their scents, etc. She is so thorough, and her customer service is top-notch. Turnaround time is about 10 days.
I love the body washes, and I have never tried a creme I didn't love. For Summer, Aloe Moisture Whip sinks right in. It's amazing. For the cooler months, Smooth Me Dream Cream is my favorite. Year round, Nourish Me Olive Body Creme can not be beat. The Smooth Me dry oil sprays hold scent well and go on like silk.
Maybe my favorite item of all: the perfumes! I have dozens. I like TBP perfumes because they are created by a true scent wizard, in my opinion, and are not your run of the mill scents. I love it that you can buy sample sets of 5 small perfumes, so you don't invest much money before deciding on your favorites. Only $15 for five different 2.5ml perfume sprays. You can also purchase smaller samples for 50 cents or $1, depending upon whether you spend $10. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the large scent menu, because there is truly something for everyone. Stay with it and you will have no regrets.
I told the owner I wanted to post a review on EDS, and even though she was not familiar with it, she offered a discount code, a coupon for a free 5.5ml perfume spray with any $15+ order (excluding taxes/shipping) through the end of April. So the order minimum is nice and low for anyone wanting to place a wee order the first time around. Coupon Code to use is: "EDS". The shopping cart is limited though, this code cannot be entered into the box there. After you place an order, the freebie can be requested through this page:www.thebodyperfumery.com/coupons.html
I don't think you could be disappointed, and this is a great chance to give The Body Perfumery a try. I rate The Body Perfumery a big winner!
I'm going to see if I can post a couple of pictures. Nothing fancy, but just to give you an idea. Here goes:

Liz, not sure if you'll order, but I can highly recommend a scent I think you'd like, since you like lavender. I'm not even a lavender fan, but, it's amazing; maybe the most uniquely pretty scent I've sniffed in over a decade. No fooling. Here's description, and it doesn't do the scent justice:
Silent Night
Thick creamy vanilla overlays delicate notes of french lavender, pine, jasmine and musk. Smells faintly edible, but not quite. A strangely addictive and peaceful scent! One whiff of this cozy wonder and you'll wonder why the whole world shouldn't smell like this. |

Thanks for the rec, Cedar! Unfortunately I'm very sensitive to most perfumes, esp. those that contain musk, so Silent Night would probably be an instant migraine for me. However, I did notice that they have a perfume that is a dupe of the Baby Bee scent which I LOVE, so I ordered that one and am really looking forward to trying it!^-^ |

Oh, Liz, I didn't know that about you and musk. Sorry. I hope you will love the Buttermilk Baby; I haven't tried that one. Out of about 3 dozen scents, only a few have not worked for me. And I think I'm picky, that's why I have to rave about The Body Perfumery in every way.
Best wishes! |

Fawnie and havana, you are so right about the scent descriptions being amazing. I have found the owner to be very helpful when I am not sure about a scent, she can describe it in even more depth to help me decide whether to try it.
One thing I love about her scents, they have so much depth, and so much richness. I hope you find something you like. |

Cedar, yah! I found about 10 that I want to try, but I'm waiting til "Blue Mtn Coffee" and "Basmati" are off the "out-of-stock" list. Alice kindly emailed me and said prob after 4/16 they should be back.
I'm drawn to the foodie and the incense-types, and wonder if her "Incense", and "Myrrh" are nicer than BPAL's, which can be kinda nasty and musky. Have you tried anything like that from BodyPerfumery, Cedar?
Another interesting site I just discovered iswww.sweetmelissanaturalbodycare.com. I got an imp of "Apricot Vanilla" in a swap that is just 2 die. Better than CSP, IMO, and way more affordable. Mostly "foodie" scents with vanilla, if you like that sort too. I go from one Xtreme to the other, don't I! Olfactory schizophrenia! |

Fawnie, if you are drawn to foodie scents (I sure am!^-^), I've got a couple recs that I think you'd really like! One is Serendipitous, the perfume by Serendipity 3. It only has three notes: milk chocolate, vanilla, and blood orange, and it is to DIE for!!! The other is Candessence's Chocolate Body lotion/body butter. Seriously, this is the best chocolate lotion I've ever smelled, and I've smelled them ALL! |

Fawnie, I definitely like TBP more than BPAL's scents.
I have not sniffed Myrrh, but I do like her Frankincense and Myrrh. I am not an incense fan, so haven't ever sniffed TBP's. A recent foody find that is lovely: Fusion of the Stars. "Luscious vanilla blend with hints of chocolate and coconut cream pie. A warm, sexy, gourmand blend." Also, if you like Vanilla Apricot, you might like Creme de Cassis: cassis, coconut creme, and hint of apricot.
Another really nice one that's a bit dark, Somali Rose: Can you imagine a masculine rose? Here it is! Rose with chocolate, sandalwood, anise, musk and a twist of green moss. Don't be too concerned about the rose in the name or the blend, for this isn't a strong floral type. Very masculine and sexy.
I don't enjoy blatant foody like I used to, but do enjoy some if they have depth.
If I listed some of my faves, the list would be very long. |

I wouldn't mind ...
Ditto about the scent descriptions...someone should get a writing award for those things!
Blue Mountain Coffee definitely sounds like it is worth waiting for.
These also have my interest so far:
Amber, Ballet, Sugar Plum, Artemis in Love, Belladonna, Beneath Falling Stars,Carnivale, First Blush, Strawberries & Cream, Silent Night. |

Katee, that's a portion of my TBP stash, to give an idea of packaging.
Sundew, I have always been intrigued by the description of Belladonna, but have not tried it. I have sniffed First Blush, and it is pretty if you like jasmine/floral. Silent Night is magnificent.
I have so many that I love, but, divided into cool weather and warm weather scents, here's some: (I'm not a blatant floral fan)
warm weather: St Croix, Echoes of the Ocean, Sweetest Layer, Lemon Verbena, Green Coconut, Yuzu, Caledonia. (this is only tip of iceberg)
cool weather: Sandalwood Vanilla, What Little Girls are Made Of, Sweet Wood, Arabia, Somali Rose, Valhalla, and many versions of vanilla.
anytime: love Super Baby, and Cleopatra's Veil, Fusion of the Stars......
Just too many to name. The little sampler of five 2.5 ml perfume sprays are a great way to try 5 scents, and the sprays do last. $14.99, I think. And then add some 50 cent samples. I guess if you did that, you could wait until you receive your order to redeem the EDS code for a free 5.5ml perfume, since you might know which you prefer. Or, probably, like me, you just might want more. |

Cedar - I'm holding out for Blue Mtn Coffee! I asked Alice if she had a candle in this scent, but she has d/c'd candles for now. Wouldn't that make a great one!
On yr rec, I'm also getting Frank&Myrrh.
I have an Aesop frangrance called Workplace Rejuvenating Fragrance that contains sandalwood, vanilla and mandarin that is just wonderful - so I'm thinking about some sandalwood to mix with my Apricot Vanilla to create something different.
Her Sanguigno Orange sounds like it would make a good body scrub - it sounds like Hermes Orange Vert doesn't it!
So many wonderful things to smell! Pity the poor soul who has to work next to me - he/she better have the same taste or be scent-impaired! When I worked in hospital I couldn't wear ANY scent so now I'm makin up for it! Scent-deprived! |

Fawnie, sounds like you are seriously plotting. It's easy to do. I have a large order that should ship this week, and already have my next order planned. I never knew she carried candles in the past. The coffee scent would be great in a candle. Also, I noticed last night, she has a sampler set of lotions, which I'm gonna try. It's a great deal, and you can pick 3 scents from a drop down menu. I think I have a scent that Sanguino Orange replaced, called Conca d Oro. It's so realistic. Your Workplace Rejuvenating scent sounds fab and yum. I lost my sense of smell for a few years after chemo, and then it came back with a vengeance, which explains my closet full of 3 drawer steri-lite thingies full of scented bath and body products. |

I received my most recent order on Saturday. Everything is so lovely! I've already ordered again. And I sent my two sisters surprise orders. I received:
Shower Me gels in Coconut Lemongrass, Moroccan Mint, Cedarwood Mint, Tweed, Warm Sands, Somali Rose, Scarlett.
Relax Me bath gel in Silent Night and Fusion of the Stars. (kind of relaxing bathtime scents)
Salt scrub in Sweetest Layer.
Dry Oil sprays in Numero 5 and Sweetest Layer.
Splash Me Body sprays in Essence of the Ocean, Green Coconut, Scarlett, and Super Baby. (I keep these in the fridge for after a workout or just to cool off on a hot day)
Full size perfume in Silent Night.
Handmade Soap in Iris & Amber. (huge, lovely, smells divine)
Emu Lip Repair in Masala Chai. (this stuff works! and feels great)
Perfume samples in Imperial Mandarin (fabulous), Starlight Starbright, Chypre, Figuier, Pink Grapefruit, Blood Orange Vanilla, Azalea, Sand Drift.....
There's probably more that I forgot. I love the quality of the products, and the customer service is excellent. Packaging is classy. Prices are excellent. If you order, don't forget the link in my original post to redeem the EDS code for a free 5.5ml perfume spray through the end of April.

Enjoy! I sure do! I'm pretty well stocked up for Summer. But will continue to browse, plot, shop. |

Cedar,
I just got my order and I must say, I love the scents! The scrub in Sweetwood is very nice and makes my skin like buttah...Has a kind of burnt sugar smell at first, but after rinsing, just the sandalwood fragrance remains.
Sanguigno Orange is so juicy I want to bite it - very fresh and not too sweet - the hint of fir really adds a nice edge.
Imperial Mandarin is a different citrus, hard to place, it has a orange blossom note and amber. Smoother than citrus usually is.
Heaven is a light, ethereal flower fragrance, definitely honeysuckle in there.
Thanks for the post on this line, Cedar!

Fawnie! I'd been wondering about you. I noticed TBP never got the Blue Mtn Coffee scent you were waiting on, and I wondered if you ordered. Yay you! Your scents sound fab. I already have another order I'm waiting to receive, and I know there will be some new scents in May, so will definitely order in May.
Isn't it great stuff? Her soap is fab, but I love everything from The Body Perfumery. IMO, her lip balms are the best. Truly healing.
I love her scents; she's a wizard. Just a reminder, the EDS code runs out tomorrow.
I'm so glad you love your goodies!
By the way, I used to find her scent list overwhelming, but, if you're looking for a certain scent note, just use the "F" key and "Ctrl" and you will have a search feature at bottom of your screen. I choose "Highlight All," and it makes it easy to locate that note.
My husband likes the Imperial Mandarin on me; it's very nice. I actually have him using TBP shower gels now, which I never thought would happen. There are many nice "manly" scents! |

Cedar!
Nope, guess I won't be getting Blue Mtn Coffee on my discount code *sigh* since it's not available yet.
Here's what I'm after, let me know if you've tried any of these and what you think of them, if you have the time please:
Circe
Flowering Herb
My Luscious Lychee
Peony
Wedding Flower
Zen Tea.
I don't like musk or amber, so I try to stay clear of them.
Thanks again Cedar! What a find!

Fawnie! I have indeed sniffed My Luscious Lychee. It was wonderfully delicious. I had bought it for a friend, so only got to sniff, not wear it. She loved it, too. It was while ago, so, I'm sorry I can't recall prominent note. I only recall it was a hit.
Just an FYI, I never thought I liked musk or amber, but Alice does such magic, many of my favorite TBP scents contain those notes. So, if anything intrigues you, get a sample. You might be pleasantly surprised. I've always thought Peony sounds worth trying, but have not yet.
Oooh, just went and looked, Circe sounds divine! |

Fawnie! I've ordered several times from Ava-Luxe. Some nice goodies! I have many sample perfumes, some body washes, creams, and a few larger perfumes. The samples are a nice way to find if a scent works for you.
Thanks a lot for thinking of me.
Are you gonna order? |

Hi!
I did a search for TBP, and I was intrigued when I saw this board pop up with a Rave for TBP. I've been wandering around, checking things out, and thought maybe I should post.
I love TBP!! I won some scent samples in a contest through wickedly chic. When I went to the scent descriptions, I was floored!! I mean, I won like 10 samples, and there are hundreds of scents!! So, after banging my head against the monitor for a while, I was able to list some. It was hard!!! Since then, I have placed an order just about every month. I love the shampoo, and the conditioner. I thought they would be too much for my oily hair, but nope! Not at all. I got them in vanilla, which is a favorite of mine. I was a bit disheartened at the price, but I ordered them 2 months ago, and I still have half bottles each left. Last month was the lotion bar in Lait Sucre; the scent just makes me hungry!! But it is a soothing scent to me; I used a lot of it while sitting in hubby's hospital room (another story altogether).
I just placed an order for Mother's Day--hubby paid for it, son picked out the scents. He likes the blend of essence of vanilla and roman holiday. The vanilla seems to calm the sharp overnotes. Now, the hard part comes--the waiting!!!
