I just wanted to jot down my experience for those of you interested. I had botox done for the first time Tuesday, March 6. It was at a spa and a very kind nurse did it. First she gave me an ice pack to put on my forehead for about a minute. Then she injected 10 units with 5 pricks. I paid $130 and she told me I should have it redone about every 4 months. (I'll wait and see if it lasts longer.) Within 2 days my 11's are completely gone. They were getting pretty bad. It feels so good to look in the mirror and recognize myself... I look like I did a year ago... no longer like a very sad puppy. I'm very, very pleased. For a couple of days after the shots I had a headache, but that could be from my allergies... it is Springtime... I'll update when the effect starts to wear off...
HTH,

I'm glad you were happy with it. I always feel like my eyes look more rested and open when I have it done there. It sounds like your 11's didn't need a whole lot with only 10 units. Good for you. |

I have done botox twice now. I was very reluctant as I had mixed feelings about the "idea" of doing botox. Hard to explain. Having said that I have been pleased. I just turned 50 and have pretty deep ll's. They become softer but don't disappear however my forehead lines do completely disappear. Debating on doing the crows feet area next time....... |

Ah that's really great anomaly! It's amazing what a big difference erasing those \/'s makes, isn't it? |

Thanks for posting about this, anomaly! I have a faint "11" (or more like a "1" near my left brow), and I'm thinking at some point botox might be nice to make it go away completely. I'm not very well educated as to how many units are generally used per area, but it sounds like (according to AnnieR's post) you didn't need a lot. I hope I'm as fortunate!
Anyway...good for you! I'm all for anything that makes you feel great when you look in the mirror...

I am glad you are happy with the results. When I have had botox in the past it has lasted at least 6 months. Longer I think but I never thought about keeping a record. Maybe yours will last longer, everybody varies. |

Hi anomaly - I'd be interested to hear if you get any headache relief from Botox. I've read that it can take 10 days or so for it to fully kick in, so please let us know if your headaches are less frequent or at least less severe. |

Can anyone who has had botox done for the elevens tell me how many units you usually need? I had called a spa in my area and they told me that it's between 25-40 units to get that area done. I am still young and only have a faint line beginning so I'm not sure that I would need that much and really don't want to overdo it if I don't need it. Thanks! |

Mine usually takes between 18 to 20 units, but I have had as few as 10 in the past. But it really does last a long time, up to 10 months sometimes (if I don't use the baby Q on it!). I find it does help with headaches, although I don't suffer from migraines, as I no longer squint my eyes. It helps relax that area nicely. |

Coleen, I was thinking the same thing about how inexpensive it was! I'd also love to know where this place is...I wish it was here in Scottsdale!

I have to say first that I have a very high tolerance for pain, but to me it didn't hurt at all - I would say less than a mosquito bite. Out of the five pricks, I only felt one. There was no pain after. |

Teeny, tiny little stick, that's all. Not even hardly enough to notice, although that is also in the hands of the practitioner. |

I always get a headache from Botox injections. It usually goes away later that night. I do get the occassion migraine, but this isn't one. I can't explain it, but the headache afterwards does happen. |
