I have this horrible condition - I am lazy.
I LOVE wearing makeup, especially eye makeup, but I hardly ever do it because when I do, it takes me so much longer to get ready for bed at night. I am dying to find a makeup remover and a face cleanser in one which will succesfully remove my mascara.
What I normally do is I first use some sort of an eye makeup remover for mascara/eyeshadow - MAC or Chanel or whatever is around.. Then I use a cleanser that I can mix with water, some sort of a gentle foaming cleanser to wash off whatever is left behind on my eyes, and also for blush, highlighter etc...
So, at that stage the makeup is gone and I can get on with my normal routine which is DrH CC, toner, vit C, moisturiser etc etc etc...
Now, apart from being lazy, I am not too keen on eye makeup remover for another reason. You have to put it on a cotton pad and then use that to smudge makeup around in attempt to take it off. I hate doing this because I am really paranoid about eye wrinkles and I feel that tugging at my eye makes is so much worse!
What I am after, and I really hope this exists, is something that will combine my first 2 steps into 1. So, ideally something that I will be able to mix with water instead of putting on a cotton pad (so there is no tugging) and also something that will remove my mascara (I don't use waterproof). A foaming cleanser that is good at removing makeup?
This has been bugging me for years - Please help! |

This isn't what you're looking for... but I wonder why you need a cotton pad and need to "smudge" (like "rub" ??) with the makeup remover that you're now using. I do the following, which might help if you can't find the all purpose cleanser.
I spread Ponds cold cream (white bottle, green letters) on my eyes and very gently wipe it off with a piece of soft tissue paper. I only wipe once or twice (not "rub"). If not all of the makeup and cold cream are removed, enough is removed so that when I cleanse, the rest comes off. I think this works well because the cold cream is often used by people as a cleanser in and of itself. It does not sting if it accidently gets in my eyes, either.
This process even works with my MAC eye makeup (liner, shadows, and mascara) which are in darker shades and stay put all day. |

A few that come to mind:
Eve Lom
YonKa Gel Nettoyant
Cellcosmet Gentle Cleansing Cream
or a cleansing oil (usually melts the makeup right off  ).

| I use Jojoba oil to remove all my make-up, then cleanse as normal.I have tried various make-up removers but as Mabsy rightly points out, the make-up just melts off with oils and Jojoba is the best I've found for getting thick waterproof eye make-up off. |

| I'm in the same boat. I wear eye makeup and love my mascara...I recently bought Shu Uemura cleansing oil thinking it has been around since the 60's it must be great...they wore a ton of eye makeup back then...but it does not do a good job on the eyes! I have tried Ponds cold cream,maybelline,almay pads (worked ok). But a couple of weeks ago I read on here that someone used olive oil to remove make up so I tried it....holy cow does it work. I have been traveling a lot for work so I havent been to the store to buy more but it really took everything off! It didnt rinse off very good but it really moisturized...no need for an eyecream. Give it a try...it is really cheap! |

| I use Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Milk as both a makeup remover and cleanser. It's worth a try but it might not be strong enough if you are using heavy duty makeup. It works for me and my makeup is pretty gentle -- it barely stays on as it is. LOL |

I second that! The oil I use for cleansing is mainly olive oil (a small amount of castor oil, and some others, too, including EOs, but mainly olive) and I have used nothing else to remove all my makeup since I started on this.
I have tried many eye makeup removers (among them Dermalogica - doesn't work and stings if it gets into your eyes; Clarins - so long ago don't remember what it was like but I'll bet I wasn't impressed otherwise I'd have bought it again; Lancome Bi-facil - good, but expensive) but I have liked the Body Shop's Camomile Eye Makeup remover the best. It's inexpensive and very effective. I'll wipe it on with cotton pads and then wash off the rest of my face with a regular cleanser.
Anyways since using my cleansing oil my bottle of BSCEMR hasn't been touched at all... |

| I second Shumura's cleansing oil. It meets all your reqirements. It takes off eye make up sooo well |

In the winter when my skin tends to be on the drier side I switch cleansers to Paula's Choice Skin Recovery cleanser. This is a milky type cleanser that removes eye makeup as well. It doesn't sting your eyes and does a great job of cleansing  I highly recommend it especially during the cooler months. Her products are fairly inexpensive as well. I would suggest Cellcosmet Gentle Cleansing Cream and Valmont Cleansing with milk.I think those are the best.  |

I usually use a cleansing cloth to wipe all my makeup off first, then I use the OCM (olive & castor oil) to cleanse again, then wipe off with a hot cloth. It seemed to remove all makeup but after a week or so, my face starts to break out quite much, so now I'm wondering if it's this cleansing method or it's my mineral powder foundation that caused my breakouts? What do you girls think? And also, will it be better to cleanse again with a regular cleanser after I OCM cuz maybe perhaps the oil residue on the face is causing my breakouts? Sorry for the questions..hehe Thanks!  |

Hi Stardustdy,
I use the OCM for the first time and my face starts to break out  . I don't think that after OCM I have oil residue on the face. It seems like a good cleansing method for the first 3 days, but then I regreted that I
used it. I don't think that Mineral powder foundation caused it since I don't use it and have the same results as you are. |

Hi Laral,
I've been using OCM on and off for a few days at night and noticed no breakouts or any improvement.....I stopped using it for a week or so and then restarted it again with my mineral makeup...that's where the breakouts started......
So Laral, did u continue using OCM now? or did u stop? Did your breakouts heal? But why is it that we have breakouts and other ppl are getting great results?.... |

| I have noticed that it there is any oil left on my face I have a breakout. I put some on as a moisturizer one night becuase I was lazy and didnt want to look for my aloe and jojoba and the next morning I had a couple of red bumps. I would suggest toning with witchazel after you use OCM because it removes all the left over oil. |

Hi Stardustdy, I stop using it for about a week, and I did it today again
I decided to give it another try! Well, if it will happen again, then I will know that it's not working for me. Let me know if you have try it again. |

Hi Laral, I actually retried OCM again a few days earlier and so far noticed no visible results or any worsening. I'll keep u updated. I haven't noticed anything coming out like many of u have...h ...I wonder why. |

has anybody tried to use Cold Cream to wipe off the makeup before using OCM or other cleansing method ?
i heard it wouldn't dry out or get breakout for your skin this way |

| I use the OCM (castor & olive oil), boy does it ever remove all makeup. I rinse well with warm water, wipe with wet face cloth, and then rinse well again. I haven't had any breakouts yet,which I'm prone to. It's been about 1 month. Must follow witha good toner. I like ACV but add witch hazel & tea tree oil to mine. |

| I too am looking for a new eyemakeup remover. I used to use L'Oreal for sensitive eyes but lately I've noticed my eyelids seem redder afterwards. I'm now using Neutrogenia oil-free, it does a good job, I use a cotton pad and just gently press on to the makeup esp mascara to help loosen it , then gently wipe it off, no rubbing at all. Ladies that use an oil to remove eye mu does the oil get into your eyes and cause blurriness or stinging? this happened to me long ago when I tried babyoil. Thanks. |

I used to remove make-up with Ponds cold cream when I was young but I don't like the smell of it anymore. Again I found it too sticky for me.
Now I am having Dior Cleaning milk and Dior eye make-up remover. Both are very gentle. |

| I use DHC Deep cleansing oil to take off my makeup (especially mascara, hate using cotton w/ makeup remover to wipe it off). I have oily skin but it hasn't made me break out. Just put the oil on dry skin, massaging and than use luke warm water to rinse off. |

Currently I am using C.O.Bigelow Rose Wonder Cream as my makeup remover. It's very gentle and it removes makeup well. It does leave an oily film on my face so I usually cleanse my face one more time with either Cetaphil or some other cleansing milk.
I just ordered Babor's two-step cleansing oil and can't wait to try them. |

Yes I have oily skin & acne prone skin. Since I started using the OCM,ACV toner & aspirin mask I find that my skin is not quite as oily and I have not had one cystic acne.
It must be true that oil balances oil!!
