I'm trying to make some balms like Decleor iris and ylang ylang or Darphin purifying and intral.
I know that they contain shea butter, beeswax, carrier oil and essential oils but I'm not sure of the proportions.
If anyone has experimented aready and has some recipes or tips, I'd be interested to hear from you.
I'm new to the board and I tried searching but didn't find anything. If there's already a thread somewhere, please let me know. |

Hi Meisje and welcome to EDS! Hopefully this is what you're looking for, it's a recipe by Diderot. http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?p=51314&highlight=decleor#51314
Good luck!

I tried this recipe but it turned out more like a solid perfume than a balm.
I'll try it with some shea butter but I'll get a friend to test it first. My pores clog very easily and I keep reading conflicting opinions online about whether or not shea butter is clogging. If it is, I'm not sure why it's in Darphin's Purifying Balm ... which is specifically a declogging product. |

Meisje, I also hear conflicting reports about shea butter and whether or not it clogs pores. I do think shea butter in anything that'll be left on my face is too rich, so I stay away from it. But my HG microdermabrasion by Naturderm [EpidermxII] contains shea butter and it certainly has NOT clogged my pores; it's served to keep them clear. But then again, the Epi2 is rinsed off thoroughly so no traces of shea butter are left on my skin. |
