Just a general question, what do you do in the morning to get your skin started? |

Cleaning out the cat litter first thing normally gets me started |

I use the Proactive 3 Step system and Proactive oil free moisturizer (mixed with cetephil in the winter months). That is about it...I do most of my masks and treatments at night. |

I started using MD Formulations in the morning. It seems to wake my skin up. I then use a toner and topical RX med. I then walk around the house, do some dishes, whatever and let my skin rest for I apply my make up. It seems to go on better (maybe because the pores are closed). Or everything in absorbed into the skin. I also noticed when I apply my mineral makeup, I do one light application spray with mineral spray and wait until the spray is completely dry, then apply my second layer. My skin seems to looked more flawless that way. Other thoughts, would love to hear. |

Based on your previous post about capsiderm http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=10383 I gather that you have been using it for a while already. If you haven't noticed that it dries out your skin then I don't see a problem with using it first thing in the morning. I am not really sure if I get your question actually... sorry. |

A cup of coffee usually gets me going
Seriously, do you mean a cleanser or overall routine? Your question is kinda vague, sorry. |

I would say try out your capsiderm in the shower in the morning and see what happens...
has it been drying you out when you've used it at night?
are you useing a moisturizer yet?
cause I've never come across a single cleanser apart from the OCM that doesn't dry me out at least a little bit - I always use some sort of emolient (cream, oil or gel) after washing my face. Otherwise I get dry and tight, and develope spots... |

well seeing you're still not useing a moisturizer I'm not surprised your skin is dry and your having problems with spots.
get a good moisturizer with your voucher! or use 3-4 drops of oil, apricot kernel is good. Put a drop on each fingertip on one hand, then rub both hands fingertips together to warm the oil up a bit and then stroke/sweep fingers all over your face. Your face needs moisture and oil to help stabilize skins own production of sebum/oil.
I've lost track of how many times you've been advised to start useing a moisturizer... |

coffee or tea first thing.
hit the shower or wash face, brush teeth.
My morning skin care routine is pretty much:
Cleanse with Dermalogica Antibac or Moogoo Goats Milk Soap
Moisturise w/ Kanebo or Image Vital C Hydrating Serum (sample)
Sunscreen Citrix SPF30
Concealer Lancome
Eyelash Curler
Lipstick Shiseido S4 Honey Tea
Sometimes I'll exfoliate with Dermalogica Microfoliant. |

I am a lover of ritual. I begin by exfoliating my skin while in the shower. I like Clinique's scrubs, remede sweep, or dermalogica's microfoliant. After I exfoliate I cleanse with Proactiv. When I get out of the shower I spritz my face with La Mer mist, then apply eye creme (remede). I apply Proactiv repairing lotion, followed by moisturizer (creme de la mer or la prairie). Et voila, c'est magnifique! |

just use mild facial wash to clean (no scrub at all) and moisturizer to prep for the day |

I use alot less products in the morning. Wash my face in the shower with Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. Then I put on some Prevage (not sure if this is doing anything for me), Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue, topped up with Dermalogica PowerFirm Eye & Lip and then Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture SPF15. My evening routine is alot more complicated. |

I uses MD Formulation cleanser, rinse off with warm water, finish it off wit cold water...tone, moisturize and sunblock. I guess what wakes my skin up is the warm then cold wash. |

Depending on my skin condition, I first wash with Jan Marini BPO wash (if broken out), Avalon Organics Lavender Cleansing Milk (if normal), or Eucerin Redness Reducing cleanser (if irritated). I have so many cleansers that I need to rotate them
After cleansing:
Decleor Neroli oil
Alphaderma CE on areas of concern
Decleor Hydraforal Cream
Mineral makeup

Make up
Thats it.. |

Well, now it depends on what my skin looks like when I wake up, LOL. Here's what I usually do these days:
Wash with Beauty Without Cruelty Herbal Cream Cleanser, then DHCC
Tone with Dr. Hauschka Toner
PSF O2 serum
Juice Beauty Blemish Serum on areas of concern
PSF Balancing Oil
Clarins SPF 40
Then I give myself "the works" with make up
Finally, a nice cup of fresh green tea! |
