I'm wondering if any of u experience that? Sometimes my mascara looks fine throughout the day but on some days, it smudges badly. Any reason why? Thanks! |

The smudge bothers me too and actually keeps me away from using mascara. |

What I find makes such a difference is to put a THIN layer of loose powder under my eyes after concealer or cream. I love the Hauschka mascara but found it kept smearing. With the powder that completely stopped. You just have to go very light with the powder or it will settle in lines and make them more pronounced.
Probably the reason it varies from day to day is your own oil production varying or the amount of product under your eyes varying. |

Just seconding michelec's advice--I'd noticed the same thing with my Dr. H mascara, and a very minute amount of powder can really remedy the problem.
One other thing that contributes to smudging, in my case anyway, is eye irritation from dry air. I'm guessing that my tears re-wet the mascara just enough to cause smudging. |

Powder under the eyes...hhm, maybe that's the reason why. But why would powder prevent mascara from smudging? And mine is a waterproof mascara too! |

I get smudges with my waterproof Stila mascara but not with the Maybelline one, so maybe some are more waterproof than others. |

In my case, the mascara is smudging mostly because of the excess oil around my eyes, so the powder just absorbs that. |
