There seems to be two sides to whether facial exercises work or not. Anyone use them to firm their face and see results>?>? |

I use the Flexeffect program which in addition to toning is designed to build muscle in order to make up for the loss of fat in the face as we age.
I'm 6 months into the program and yes I can tell my face is more sculpted, lifted & w/firmer contours.
I do hit times where I get discouraged(right now or I'd be much more positive) & other times I feel this is the way to go.
In terms of stretching & pulling skin, there are ways to avoid this by doing variations of the exercises.
This exercise and Skinbiology's copper peptides are my current plan of attack for the effects of aging.

I try to tighten my neck and chin by kinda like looking like I just ate a lemon. I can feel it the next day. I'm a little afraid of doing other extreme excersises for fear I will stretch the skin and have it sag rather than tightening it if I don't do it correctly. A decision I may regret one day but I hope not. :P |

My mother has been doing these exercises now for over a year, and the results are dramatic. She is 50 yrs young and never! used anything else on her face other than soap and water. I got her into skinceuticals and she found a place that does non surgical face lifts. Her double chin has gone, and her face looks like a 40 yr old. I tried them but generally dont have time in the morning to send the right amont of time to do them properly, so I do them of a night. I have found that my face feels tighter especially around the mouth. But I am really careful about not pulling at the skin. |

A place that performs non surgical face lifts? How does that work? I am 33 and just really starting to get the "tired" look from the eys down to the nose. Way too much alcohol and s.cal lifestyle:( (though I am great at using my sunblock) I just need to find something to tighten up a bit...now that I am living more healthy too... |

Im back
According to mum, a machine is used that stimulates the muscles in the face at certain points. In an upward motion a the face is worked on. She also has dermadrasion at the time.
There is a list of facial exercises that target all aspects of the face. These need to be done on dry clean skin (morning and night) they maintain the muscles.
There are about ten different excercises that mum does, here are a few
Neck- At three points under the neck going downwards, using your forefinger gently do circles- rather than pulling at the skin ensure that you try and massage the muscles underneath. Do ten rotations clockwise and anti- clockwise. Then in a gently sweeping motion with all fingers from the bottom of the neck upwards gently work the skin upwards ( again trying not to pull at it) ten times then under the chin area do the same back work outwards towards the ears.
The same gently circular movements can be done on certain points in the face- between eyebrows, outer aspects of eyes nearer to the temple, corners of mouth, above lips and then at three points working out towards the ears.
The therory is the as we get older the muscles of the face become weakened so by stimulating them they become stronger -just like our butts I suppose
