Hey all, I've been dying to try out True Cosmetics minerals but there is no spa near me and I have tried other companies via online matching, which never seemed to be quite right.
So, after reading the many posts here and seeing another member had contacted True for color advice, I did the same then EUREKA came upon a ding dong good idea. I took a pic in natural light that was a pretty good indication of my coloring; I also described it to them, as well. I sent the pic as an afterthought and Alicia Gomez, who responded to me, did confirm the color of medium #1, and said it was a good idea to send a picture.
So, if anyone else is having trouble matching and does not have a salon nearby, you might try taking a picture and sending it to them. I would take it in natural light with your neck/shoulders visible in order to get a good idea of what the overall look should be. Here's my pic - ignore the ick factor - but should be a decent example of what to send:

| Aren't you cute?! You know, that does seem like a pretty good idea. I am curious if you've received your shade yet, and is it a match? I heard from Alicia Gomez at True a couple months ago, describing the shades. But, I have learned, it can be very far off from what I envision. I got really lucky, finally, with Everyday MMU, liking the products and finding a shade to match my skin. For some silly reason, even after ordering the full size products from Everyday, I decided I needed to try Larinem and Lauresse samples. No matches, nothing close, so a waste of $26 on samples. I should've stayed with what I already liked. I had tried Aromaleigh a couple years ago, and liked the products but could never find a perfect shade. And philosophy mmu made my skin look old.
