Hi there, i've been desperately trying to find a suutable sunscreen for myself, and have tried ole henriksen herbal sunscreen, PSF's, but they simply make my face oily! Are oily skin suitable moisturers with sunscreens? Currently looking at
md skincare Auto-Balancing Moisture with Sunscreen SPF10
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock
Hope for more recommendations! |

I've got this problem as well, puts me off wearing a sunsreen because of the amount of shine I get. I've tried some of the La Roche Posay ones, these are generally very shiny but the mattest one seems to be the childrens spray one, sorry can't remember the name.
Also the Shiseido lotion SPF55, everyone always says that this is one that leaves your face matte, but I still find it quite shiny sometimes, but a lot less so than others I've tried.
The best one I've tried is one by Sunkiller, it's hard to get hold of, but this is by far the most effective one in terms of leaving my face the least shiniest! |

Living in the UK I don't use sunscreen every day, but when I do use it I opt for Avene Lait, high protection and not as oily as most.
I find using toner then a little Jojoba Oil Oil underneath helps |

I for one hated Neutrogena's Ultra-Sheer--- it made me feel and look soooo shiny!! One to try is Clarins UV PLus SPF 40. It's expensive, but it's totally matte, weightless, and invisible. I can't believe I ever lived without it! Another good one for a matte finish is Colorscience's Sunforgettable Powder--- you dust this stuff on like make up. |

Oh, I guess out of laziness I use the words sunblock and sunscreen interchangably.^-^ But, the Clarins UV Plus has only mineral filters, so I guess you'd call it a sunblock, right? |

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one that the Neutrogena didn't work for!! I thought there was something wrong with me! Actually, my problem with it was it made my eyes burn!!!
Right now I'm using Murad sunblock oil-free SPF 15 sheer tint - not sure I love it but it's ok for now. I put ColorScience powder mixed with a little minerals on top. It is kind of heavy overall, but I'm still trying to figure this all out. I felt I was getting too much sun with minerals only. May re-try the Clarins (I've tried it before). |

I just use a light moisturizer with an SPF, wear a cute hat and I invested in an expensive pair of sunglasses with serious UVA/UVB protection to prevent lines around the eyes.
So far no break outs and no burns. |

I have exactly the same problem. For three days I have been using the Liz Earle Sun Protector SPF25 for the face. So far so good. It contains only physical filters, no parabens and no animal ingredients. It goes on with a horrible white cast, but after twenty minutes it sinks in to a matte finish. I have my fingers crossed it will continue to work for me. I get breakouts from sunscreens easily. I will still read this thread with interest as I would love to find a more cosmetically elegant formula. |

After trying what seems like 100s of brands, , my fav is La Roche Posay Dermo-Pediatrics SPRAY spf 40. The spray (as opposed to the cream) is thin and dries quickly, leaving no white cast and no greasy film. I can't even tell I have it on. Can't wait til it gets to the US. Right now, I find it on ebay, etc.
Shiseido's spf 55 is another good one - so nongreasy that actually made this combo girl dry! Plus it does leave the slightest light cast and only about 9PPD as opposed to LRP's 17-18. |

I too have found the Japanese sunblocks like Sunkiller to be excellent for oily skin, I just wish they were easier to get ahold of. There's a Japanese brand called Sunplay that's very similar to the Clarins UV Plus and it's sold in Singapore as well as Japan, so whenever my husband goes to Singapore for business I always have him pick me up a couple of bottles... |

The Kinerase moisturizer with SPF 15 is very matte when I first put it on.
Basis moisturizer, also SPF 15, is rather matte too.
And I'm very oily. |

I've been using the PSF herbal sunscreen (with spf 30) and I do find it leaves me oily.
I've been tolerating it because I just bought it two weeks ago, but I'm going to order the Sofina Nuance one that everyone raves about pretty soon.
I'll keep the PSF one to put on my tattoos when I wear tank tops (I have one on my arm, and just got another one a week ago on my inside wrist).
I like the ingredients it has in it, it just leaves me a tad too shiny, though my new Everyday Minerals has been helping with that! |

ParisTroika,
Are you supposed to use special sunscreen for care/maintenance of tattoos?

I didn't know that the sun zaps the color out of a tattoo. Good to know! |

I like the Juice Beuaty Tinted Moisturizer. If goes on a bit greasy at first, but it sinks to my skin in a couple of minutes. I'm outside a lot and so far the SPF 30 has kept me from getting burned. |

Yes, I also just rely on Jane Iredale powders for sunscreen - I trust them uterly and my face hasn't even gone pink once in the last two years I've worn it - can't say the same for shoulders even with sun cream on! SPF of around 17 I think for most MMUs. |

Me too.. I know I will pay for that someday!!
I will also be adding raspberry seed oil plus silk powder, which all seem to deflect UV rays (I hope!!)
Well I try to wear a hat sometimes too..... |

I love this as well! Although I do not have oily skin... I think it might be a bit too shiny for someone with oily skin, as it does give me a bit of a shine. |

I have oily skin and I also love the Juice Beauty tinted moisturizer SPF 30. The Juice Organics one is exactly the same to me. I have both and they have the same texture, look, and smell. |
